The food and service were great. Everything was well prepared and served hot. The fresh bread and strawberry butter were amazing. I could honestly eat that bread all day.

I heard they just re-opened in January under new ownership. This was my first visit, so I can’t compare to the previous owners. All I can say is that I left full and happy.

Next time I want to try the burgers. They looked so good.

First time here after going to the garden of the gods. The place made us feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door. Friendly service people, food was fast and good. Price was reasonable. They sang for my wife 73 BD and they said they haven’t done that yet but the whole staff came over and sang . I highly recommend going here to grab a bite when seeing the park.

Haven’t been back since new ownership, glad we finally did!! Food was amazing. We got a large juicy double cheese burger & a 8oz sirloin. Best restaurant steak I’ve ever had- and I’m a tough critic. We will be back!

We decided to try this place, and it did not disappoint. The ambiance was relaxed and cozy, perfect for a casual night out. We started with the fried calamari rings in a rich tomato sauce that were crispy on the outside and tender inside, bursting with flavor. For the main course, the meat was cooked perfectly, with a unique and beautiful presentation that made each bite even more enjoyable. The service was on point, friendly, and quick. The only thing I could mention is that the prices are a bit high, but honestly, the quality of the food made it worth every penny. Definitely a place I’d return to!

After going to the Peony Farm in Harrisburg, I went to the Red Onion for an early supper. I went after 4pm because that is when they serve prime rib on Friday & Saturday. The service was quick & accommodating. The prime rib was a huge 16 oz serving. It was tender but didn’t have much flavor. I got the regular prime rib & not the canjan flavored one so maybe that is why. The mac & cheese was creamy & warm. The fried potatoes had onions but weren’t crispy. The loaf of bread with strawberry butter was a nice touch & was very good.

Only time we’ve ever eaten here and it was fantastic. Certainly a special occasion in my opinion as the prices were high but food was well worth it. Taste and quality as well size. Highly recommend and can get busy at times.

Tried the stuffed mushrooms along with the filet special. Everything was delicious. We couldn’t resist and had a chocolate and coconut pie packaged to go. Don’t forget the delicious loaf of bread. The only negative was that the water tasted like bleach.

If I could give 10 stars I would. We got married in the park and showed up with a group of 25 people on short notice they made sure to accommodate us. The staff was great especially the hostess Connie. The food was fantastic if youre ever in the area be sure to stop in and enjoy some of the best food we have had in southern illinois. We will definitely be back anytime were in the area.
