We stopped in for brunch during our recent trip to Roslyn to check out all of the Northern Exposure sites.
We had a large group of about 10 with us, and depending who you ask, you might get a different review for The Red Bird Cafe.
The decor was cool. Very trendy, inclusive, and fun.
The service was where we all differed in opinion. Personally, I felt like the service was fine, complete with small town charm. My friends felt, though, that the server was rude and clearly didn’t want to be there that day. I can’t say for sure who is correct, so that is something you will have to gauge in your own. Maybe my friends were just jealous that they weren’t given a splash of rum in their hot chocolate, so who knows?
I loved the care that was put into the artistic designs in our hot chocolate! Absolutely beautiful, and the foam tasted like velvet! Loved it!
The food was great also! Everyone loved their items from the Breakfast Quesadilla that I had to biscuits and gravy! So good!
The place is a bit small, which kinda hurt the atmosphere a bit, but all and all, if you are looking for some yummy food and artistic drinks this is your place!

Food is good. I had the Bagna which is very garlicky but very good if you like garlic. My friends did the toast and that was also delicious. I just wish they offered potatoes on the side of something. The coffees are also very milky but other than the service was awesome!

What a cool spot with an awesome menu. The place itself feels as if you are walking into Granny’s kitchen with a totally homey homemade feel. The food matched the atmosphere as it was super fresh and everything was homemade and delicious. I loved how they had so many vegan/veggie options besides the normal breakfast staples. I had the vegan breakfast quesadilla and my husband had a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. So fresh, so delicious and the portion was HUGE! Awesome place to go with friends and family and what’s perfect is the menu has something for everyone!

Wow! We got the pastrami hash and the Cuckoo for breakfast; both were phenomenal! The staff was delightful and the coffee was unexpectedly very very good. There are both indoor and outdoor seating options. Will certainly be coming back!

lovely lunch stop before continuing eastward. the patio was perfect for al fresco dining during our visit. we were informed almost immediately they were out of a few things and they were understaffed. so the wait we had for our food was a given. it’s the norm now it seems when dining out.
the menu was filled with intriguing all day breakfast options and filled out with many hand held sandwich style items. options of chips, fresh fruit, or fruit cup come with. we chose one from breakfast and one from lunch. my choice of a Monte Cristo-which I realized i had not enjoyed in years-was absolutely delicious. i came to the realization that these are basically French Toast made into a savory sandwich. this one was made perfectly with ham, turkey, and two cheeses. came with a delicious (homemade?) Marionberry jam. Loved it.
the other choice today was a Dill Tuna sandwich. listed as being on a croissant but served on regular bread due to shortages. the tuna salad was made in such a way as to not be overly wet. held together just right. the dill, celery, and red onion added zest to the flavor profile. it was thoroughly devoured and enjoyed. excellent. if you are in the area this is a wonderful spot and if you are able to take the time, totally worth enjoying.

I absolutely loved this place. A great food place in the town of Roslyn, where the show Northern Exposure was filmed from 1990-1995 Great food at a great price. I even grabbed some homemade cookies which were delicious. Highly recommend this place as a stop heading to Leavenworth or other points east.

Another fantastic local find. Check the specials on the board. Today’s soup included a spinach, coconut & thyme that was so delicate and very balanced flavors. Several vegetarian and gluten free options. Lots of fresh baked goods.

Really beautiful establishment in Roslyn. I loved meeting Taylor too who works there! We ordered the bread pudding and the quesadillas with vegan meat. The food is pretty heavy but overall a pleasant experience. They have pastry’s that look good so give them a try!
