We walked next door from the truck stop, we drive semi, its nice to find a gem like this within safe walking distance, home cooked food is where its at! The lady was soooo nice and helpful on our order, ribs fell of the bone, sausage link perfect, green beans , loaded potatoe with brisket was good too! I got the home made chili on the side to try it, it was really tasty! Our son ordered double cheeseburger with bacon, it was on point! We will definitely come back next time we are through, we really enjoyed our meals! Cant wait to try the chicken alfredo

The lady who hands you your food says “it was cooked with love” so you know it’s going to be good. And it was great! I had red beans and rice with sausage. If you want real Louisiana cooking, this is where you want to stop. I will return. $11. Only $11!!

It’s missing the Louisiana soul taste!
I got brisk and Mac; came out like macaroni soup. I also got shrimp po boy with a side of hair. The banana pudding had unflavored pudding; if it wasn’t for the cookies and bananas it would have been crap. The lady at the window seems nice.
What happened to the people who cooked here last year and the year before? Get them back please and ty

Had a shrimp po boy, gator bites, boudin egg roll and rib tips. The egg roll was good. The gator bites were good except I would have preferred gator chunks instead of minced. The rib tips were really good. Nice and moist and tender. The shrimp po boy was delicious! A lot of shrimp packed into it and falling out. Tied for the best shrimp po boy I’ve ever had. Nice lady at the window.

Excellent customer service. Food was great. If I have the opportunity to stop by next time I’m in the area, I definitely will. Great overall experience.

This etouffee plate with fried catfish was insane and my boyfriend’s ribs were soft falling off the bone, his green beans excellent too!

I had the shrimp Poboy and fries and it was amazing. Stopped in here to grab a bite to eat before I head back to Houston. And I’m glad I did.

Stop by a was surprised. I travel & most of the time the food is a disappointment. Me being a foodie. Shrimp PoBoy on point. Green beans are killer & seasoned well. Chicken 100%. Only things pulled pork is possible dry pack.l but I would still recommend this place. Very nice attitude & southern charm.

Po-boy has soft bread. Not that dry crunchy stale type. The shrimp was falling off. The potato salad was a good. You can taste the notes of dill and mustard. Mustard isn’t overpowering. I’ll be back for their bbq

Realized the saddest thing yesterday. I have driven passed TRD for many years n never stopped bc I never saw smoke from the smokers n imo bbq w/o that deep robust smoke just isn’t bbq. I decided to stop this time. Got the 2 meat plate but w/o my usual sides. Instead I got M&C and green beans. While the M&C was good the g. beans were amazing! Other than tender onions I have no idea what was in them but it worked. Slightly crispy beans, perfectly salted n seasoned and I swear they were fresh…not from a can! I got the pulled pork & ribs as my 2 meats. They were both delightfully smoky and the p. pork was insanely tender, uniform and the most juicy I’ve ever had. The ribs were big n meaty and had a little chew left (which I like ) and just great! Finally, the portions were so big and the price….WTH?!!! All that, $19+tax. I can’t believe they can operate in such a small bldg they should be the busiest bbq joint in the tri-state. TYSM Real Deal, I hope my review helps. You guys deserve it.

PS the only reason for the 4* is bc I’ve only been once and only had a fraction of the menu.
