Reviews
The restaurant is quite pricy per dish. Each dish costs between R180- R250 which is high in relation to the portion offered per item.
No owner in sight, greeting/ engaging the customers and this is definitely key to a well run restaurant.
Also, most Indian restaurants offer a light snack with your drinks before the meal arrives. Some offer papad, or nuts with boodi. I asked the waiter who served us and he confirmed they don’t offer that.
Perhaps this is something to consider for your future customers.
The Indian cuisine here is top tier. I had the lamb biryani and it was exceptional — the meat was extremely tender, beautifully spiced, and the portion was generous. The service was also very good; our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and enhanced the overall experience. A must-visit for authentic Indian food at Sun City.
The 1/4 lamb bunny was R199, yes you read right! Setting my hesitation aside, I thought I was in for a Royal Treat and foolishly didn’t spend enough time reading through the reviews.
Starting with the bread, it was stale to the point that it just crumbled between your fingers. You couldn’t break off a piece neatly and scoop up the curry. It literally went to a powdery state. The taste of the bread was also awful.
The curry had titbits of lamb, about 2cm square, a very generous portion of 5-6 pieces …note the sarcasm…I am already fuming by this time because of the bread. Also had 2-3 bones that were pretty much empty, and 2 potatoes double the size of a piece of meat.
The meat and potato had no flavour. This tells me they were just added to some gravy on order and passed as lamb curry.
Instead of getting the Royal Treat, I got Royally Fooled and parted with double what any decent lamb curry should cost.
Save your money.

It’s in the food corner – so the ambience is nothing to be proud about.
