$5 for a pulled chicken sandwich and mac and cheese. Smoked shredded chicken with some of his smokey barbecue sauce, and the mac and cheese was perfectly done with crusty melty cheese on top. That’s the best $5 I’ve spent for lunch in a very long time. The owner was there and we had a nice chat, very pleasant fella.

I picked up my food and saw the kitchen and should’ve known i was in trouble. His machines are all covered in dirt and grease. Got the food home to realize he substituted food without telling me and instead of the two hot dogs he gave me one and a burnt sausage…the rest of the food was either charred to a crisp or liquefied into a puddle. The Mac and cheese was hard as a rock and the corn casserole will turn your stomach…..I have no clue how this restaurant turned so quickly. I used to love it but even the BBQ sucks..

This is the third time that we have ordered from Shelby Q…. Each time sides such as corn casserole macaroni mashed potatoes have been very dried out… Even more disappointing is how dry crispy and old the meat is. We have tried, pulled pork, brisket, and shredded chicken. Today we ordered a couple of meals, including pulled pork combo. I’m including a picture of the pulled pork and you can see it is extremely dried out hard to chew this sand is going in the garbage :((

Everything from the brisket to the sides was absolutely delicious and worth the drive! Mike’s warm demeanor and company made the experience even more exceptional! The Q will see us plenty in the future

Traveled out to Shelby Q today. Met Mike the owner, who was super engaging. We discussed all the different food options that are available. He had pulled brisket, pork, and chicken at the time. Ribs weren’t available at the time, they were on the smoker. He has a large amount of sides. Pork and beans, green beans, corn casserole, mashed potatoes, potato salad, macaroni salad, coleslaw and potato chips. Ordered the 3 meat sampler. Brisket, pulled pork and chicken. All meats tasted okay but were a little dry. As for the sides. I had the baked beans, they had a little pork in them but not super flavorful. The potato salad was a mustard based salad which was quite flavorful. The mac n cheese was mixed with some barbeque sauce which gave it a different taste, not bad at all. I also ordered the corn casserole which also had barbeque sauce in it. Probably the best side to me. Mike as a number of sauces too go with his meats. He has sweet, smokey, pineapple and spicey. Mike has had the business for 2 years, he also does catering. If you have a chance, stop in and check things out.

I worked an overnight 12 hour shift on just 2 hours of sleep Wednesday night, and when I got home all I could think was how good The Q sounded for my dinner before I went to bed. I stayed up and sent my husband to pick up food, and it was SO worth it! I got a brisket combo with mashed potatoes and beans, and also a pulled pork sandwich. It had been a while since I had eaten here, but it was all even better than I remember!! The meat was so fresh and flavorful, and the potatoes were melt in your mouth delicious! The sauces, all of it was just AMAZING!! My husband said the owner was super friendly and helpful while he was there, he was really impressed with the atmosphere and vibe he got. Overall, a wonderful experience, 10/10, HIGHLY recommend!!

The owner is great, but the food… the food is horrible.. the meat is VERY dry and tough to chew ended up just throwing it away (got ribs) Baked beans is about the only edible thing there. Not sure when this food is prepared but it’s not worth it. The building itself stinks like mildew.
