I came in here with my buddies, who have never been before today, after telling them how much I like the place. I could not be more embarrassed. The bartender Iriana has the most disgusting attitude I’ve ever experienced while dining out, not to mention the slowest most inattentive service. It took 30 minutes to get our check to leave. My other friends won’t join us here for the same reason. The staff represent the bar directly, and the inexperienced bartenders in this place are sadly running it into the ground. Service and attitude so bad it was worth writing the only review I’ve ever written. We’ll be regulars of Porky’s from now on.

This place is fantastic, very friendly staff and Danny the owner will go the extra mile to please a customer. I specifically came down to try the corned beef Reuben because a good friend raved about it, and now I’m raving to all of you to come eat this delicious sandwich! The corned beef is cooked there, and it is so tender & flavorful you will think your grandmother was in the kitchen! They slice it nice and thick, and combined with the sauerkraut, thousand island dressing, and crisp grilled rye bread, you will be drooling just looking at it! The sandwich comes with a couple onion rings on top, which was an awesome touch that along with the crinkle-cut fries and excellent pickle, will satisfy you every time. This place is very spacious, welcoming, and clean. There is an outdoor patio area as well, and they have a rooftop bar during warm weather too! Located right on Howe Ave in the middle of downtown Shelton, it’s easy to find, and there’s a free public parking lot across the street. I highly recommend a visit, you will be glad you went!

I recently moved to Shelton, Ct from Westchester, NY. A few of my neighbors in the building I live in (The Birmingham) and my wife recently have been frequenting The Pub on Howe. I would like to comment about the restaurant by saying:
a) The owner, bartenders, and staff are down to earth, very polite, and extremely friendly.
b) The food and drinks are not only delicious but also affordable!
c) The back room/pool area is so much fun to spend a few hours chatting with the local patrons at the restaurant or spending quality time with friends/family!
Love this local Pub and will definitely be spending a lot of time & money here

The security at the door doesn’t know what real CT IDs look like. I came in with a friend and they claimed both our IDs were fake when they are, in fact, real. They even gave us a rundown on all the signs of them being fake IDs and we decided it wasn’t even worth our time to argue so we left. It should be worrying for the management of this place that their front door security doesn’t fully know what real Connecticut IDs look like.

Bouncer thought our ID’s were fake bc the holographic on the back was moved apparently when we’re literally 25. Pretty sure they just didn’t want to let us in since it was last call. Loved it the other times we’ve been there besides from tonight.

Place is terrible. Staff is the worst. They were trying to serve me 10oz draft beers at 6.2% 10/12oz pours in any place start at 8% beers. Rip OFF. I tried to voice my opinion and basically got kicked out by a bouncer. And no, I was not even drunk. Had two 6.2%. Guys are jerks. Sad, I just move downtown a few days ago looking for a good stool to frequent. I’ll never come back, or recommend. Get ready to get ripped off if you come here

Okay, so this is my wife and I’s second visit to the Pub, before we were going to leave a review of any kind we had to try it more than once. I am a chef by trade so I always look for the low points in the food execution, atmosphere, and service. I found none, the staff greets you with a smile, the atmosphere is old school pub, brick wall with rustic wood trim. It is a relaxed atmosphere, the service was attentive and on point without be intrusive. Our apps came out in a timely manner and delicious. The main course again came out as we were finishing our apps, everything was cooked to temp and very tasty! We didn’t feel rushed which was a nice change from most places we have visited lately.
The menu is pub fair, which is what we expected, they don’t try to be everything to everyone by offering too much on the menu which means what they do offer is very well executed. All in all we highly recommend the gem, great find. We will be making this our go-to spot for Sunday fun-day!!

1st time here! Staff was awesome – especially Paul B at the door!! Super friendly! Place felt very welcoming. Regina in the kitchen cooked our medium buffalo wings to perfection! Nice bit of heat which left your lips “tingly”, but not overpowering & the skin was crispy. Yum! Pool tables in the back rooms are a nice touch.
