This was our first visit to The Post Tavern. I had the fish and chips. It was freshly dipped and the three pieces of fish were substantial. The fries were fresh and the cole slaw, which had a hint sweetness, was delicious! My wife had a wedge salad which was very tasty she really enjoyed it. The only odd thing was when we confirm the reservation and again we walked to the door they made it clear we could only be at our table for 1 and 1/2 hours. I’ve never had a restaurant do that before and thought it was odd and off-putting. There are better ways to make sure that you turn your tables. Service was prompt, food came quickly, and we ended up there for more than 45 minutes. No need for the “time warning.”

Post Tavern is an absolute standout five stars all the way! The food, service, and atmosphere are all top-tier, but let me talk about the real highlights.

First off, the carrot cake is hands-down the best I’ve ever had. Moist, perfectly spiced, and topped with a rich, creamy frosting that’s just the right amount of sweet. It’s the kind of dessert you think about long after the last bite.

Every handcrafted drink we tried was a hit balanced, creative, and made with top-shelf ingredients. You can tell the bartenders take real pride in what they’re serving.

And don’t miss their happy hour generous specials and the same incredible quality across the board. Whether you’re grabbing a drink after work or settling in for a full meal, Post Tavern delivers on every level.

We visited for our first time yesterday. We had an amazing experience. Our server was excellent and the bartender made some excellent drinks. I ordered the Shepard’s Pie and found the portion size to be great and the flavors were so good! My husband ordered the Fish & Chips and he thought it was the best fish and chips he’s ever tasted (me too as I tried a bite.) 4 large breaded Walleye that was not greasy and very flaky. The fries and coleslaw were so good too. We can’t wait to come back and try the lasagna! My hats off to this new restaurant for being just newly opened and doing such a great job! We also tried the carrot cake and the chocolate fudge cake. I loved the fudge cake. Sometimes chocolate cake can be dry. This was melt in your mouth moist and delicious. My husband hates carrots, but he really loved it. He also said that the homemade tartar sauce made him finally like it!

Very happy to see this addition to the Ada Village. We made a reservation over the phone and they were very timely seating us. You can use OpenTable to reserve which is nice. The decor is beautiful and they have a mix of indoor and outdoor seating. The drinks took a bit longer which was understandable as they are new. The cocktails were perfectly crafted and delicious. The food was good. Nothing left us “wow’ed” and wanting more. Our table had 2 steaks cooked at different temps (medium-well and medium) and unfortunately one ended up being rare. We did let the server know for next time, and she was apologetic but no offer to comp the check at all which we thought was unusual. We had a birthday girl so they gave us a choice of dessert on the house (very kind of them), and we chose the blueberry lemon cheesecake which was perfection. All in all, we had a great time and will definitely be back, and we’re certain they will get better and better as time goes on!

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately it fell short—especially when it came to the food.

The chicken wings were disappointing. The wings weren’t crispy —just soggy and overly chewy.

The crab cakes weren’t much better. Pretty sure they deep fry the crab cakes, which reduced the natural flavors found in crab.

On a slightly positive note, the service and atmosphere were great.

Second visit – 09/12/24. Unfortunately, it was as not as good as my initial visit. Service lacked knowledge of the menu. Focaccia was good but overwhelmed with garlic. We were very disappointed with the lobster roll, not even fresh for the price. It was dry and lacked taste. Fish and chips were good, although the chips were cold and soggy. Overall, we were disappointed.

New to Ada. The Post Tavern inside the beautiful and newly opened (last week) boutique Ada Hotel. Service (Brian) and atmosphere . Excellent caesar salad and a fantastic lemon pepper half chicken served with perfectly cooked broccolini and potatoes. The gravy had an outstanding flavor. For a brand new restaurant, they got it!! Can’t wait for their upstairs restaurant Rix to open. Another gem in Ada Michigan.

Our first time here & we loved it! Service was amazing, thank you, Raven! The Shepherds Pie was so good, love the little pot of gravy on the side. Drinks were really good as well! Only downside, we were on a long overdue date night & had to get home to our babysitter, so we opted to take dessert to go, our leftovers were bagged up & left for us at the table along with the check, we paid the check, grabbed our bag & went home. When we got home, our dessert was not in the bag, although we had paid for it. So, we will have to return back for a refund or our dessert. Overall, excellent.

Absolutely thrilled with my dining experience at The Post in the Ada Hotel! The shepherd’s pie was nothing short of amazing—rich, flavorful, and comforting. The fish & chips were also among the best I’ve ever had; perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside. The atmosphere of the restaurant is clean and beautifully designed, making for a pleasant dining environment. The service was exceptional, with attentive and friendly staff from the managers to the host and servers. Overall, The Post is now a fantastic new favorite of mine. Highly recommend!

Good variety of drink options, from draft beer to cocktails and whiskey flights. The Charred Ahi Tuna was cooked well (rare), the teriyaki sauce and slaw were enjoyable, but the wasabi potatoes were underwhelming. The “Lobstah Roll” had great flavor and a significant amount of lobster. The fries, though fresh cut and cooked to perfection did not have enough seasoning for my taste.
