The Posh Pescatarian is a laid-back kitchen and bar at Twanoh State Park on Hood Canal, serving West Coast–inspired dishes, craft cocktails, and waterfront experiences. Located in the park’s historic concession building—just steps from the beach and boat launch—we’re one of the only full-service restaurants in a Washington state park. Join us for takeout, live music, special events, or relax in our 21+ lounge with a seafood-forward menu that also includes chicken, steak, vegetarian, and kids’ options. Finding us: We’re inside Twanoh State Park—look for our flags and signage. Parking is first-come, first-served with a Discover Pass or $10 paid day use. Seasonal hours: Closed for the 2025 Season. Back in May 2026.

My second visit, and the food and ambience were a memorable as the last time. Highly recommend! I got the surf and turf quesadilla (so good!) and seasonal cider. And got to visit with interesting people around the firepit, after a calming walk on the nearby old growth forest trail, and watched a seal in the water as the sun set. Can’t be better than that!

We wanted to love this place! The Black cod was cooked well that’s why I give 2 stars but sat on a bed of unseasoned greens with unseasoned white rice and mango slices, was strange. BBQ chicken quesadilla was unseasoned – also very bland. The clam chowder was a down right disappointment and inedible in flavor. The park is nostalgic and pet friendly but their eating arrangement area/bar patio in the dirt is not pet friendly. Also, you must have a discover pass to park.

Okay, I’m not trying to be negative, but don’t call it a lobster roll when it could be anything rung through a grinder on a hot dog bun. Come on. Okay, two more gripes, one, is it over-priced by a lot… the other is its patio furniture in the dirt. Bring back real restaurant with real service. I’m not tipping when I have to pay (in this case over-pay) and I have to do half the work. Work like the rest of us.

We had lunch at the Posh Pescatarian yesterday, and it was by far the best seafood we’ve had since moving to Washington four years ago. Stephanie has made a lovely dining area, with fire pits, comfy chairs, and flowers. We walked on the Twanoh creek trail afterwards—it was a delightful experience all around. The drive took us about an hour, and we will definitely be making the trip again!

So fun to have a restaurant with great food and drinks at the state park. Have to be 21+ to sit in the back seating area but you can order to go and eat / drink anywhere in the park. The shrimp quesadilla was our favorite. We also got polish sausage (okay but good for kids), and shrimp ceviche (second favorite).

My friends & I were camped in the Twanoh State Park. We were pleased to discover Posh, an easy walk right across the road, and decided to try it for lunch. We were so happy with our lunch choices in the outdoor seating area (salmon quesadilla, BBQ shrimp quesadilla, chowder & hot dog) that we returned for dinner that evening. Again we enjoyed our dinner choices (black cod with mango salsa, lobster roll, & BBQ shrimp quesadilla). Stephanie was so welcoming and thankful for our visits and took the time to answer our questions on how her delightful, unusual restaurant came to be. We admire her ingenuity & wish her much success!

Stopped by here today for a pair of Lobster Rolls and a quiet lunch under the trees. I had been wanting to try this place for weeks and we were so impressed! Plentiful meat and scrumptious flavor. Husband had the spicy chowder and he loved every bite. Going to try to visit once more before the season closes, but we’ll be regulars next year for sure!

This is a really unique restaurant, so get your expectations set correctly. This is an outdoor setting and it might take a while to get your food.
It is a seasonal setup using a state park concession building. Twanoh state park is an old school gem with tall pines and a beautiful beach along the Hood Canal. The buildings and picnic grounds are is so classic, you’d think Yogi and Boo Boo would be sitting at the next table. If you don’t like state park picnic grounds you won’t like the atmosphere.
Restaurant operation is pretty simple. One order at a time, made to order, in order. You might want a bowl of chowder, but if there is a labor intensive black cod order before you, that fish will get grilled before your chowder gets scooped. Our order of lobster roll and chowder took 40 minutes.
That said, it was worth waiting for. The owner literally wrote the book on the dishes she serves. She does all the cooking. I’m guessing she hasn’t found someone she trusts to execute to her standard. The flavors were carefully crafted, delicate and subtle. If you have time to hang out in a gorgeous outdoor setting and appreciate carefully prepared seafood dishes, this could be your place.
