My wife and I came here for my birthday brunch since she works nearby and a coworker highly recommended it. We drove 45 minutes to check it out, and it was absolutely worth the trip.
The café is small and very quaint, with plenty of plants both inside and outside that create a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere. The staff was polite, attentive, and made us feel right at home.
As for the food — excellent. We ordered the specials, “Back to the Gym” and the “Pantheon” (I may be spelling that wrong), and both were delicious. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared.
They also offer outdoor seating, which is a great option when the weather cooperates.
Overall, we loved this place and will definitely be back very soon.

It is difficult to know where to begin with the compliments this restaurant deserves. Polo Grounds Café is, without question, the best brunch spot in Aiken. From the consistently delicious, high-quality food to the warm, inviting atmosphere, every visit is a positive experience. The café offers a unique and cozy setting that makes it an ideal place to relax and enjoy a thoughtfully prepared meal.
The menu is exceptional, with every item made using high-quality ingredients. Not only is the food flavorful, but it is also among the healthiest brunch options available in the area, making it well worth the price. There is a clear level of care and intention behind each dish, which truly sets this café apart from others.
One standout feature for me personally is the coffee. This is the only place in Aiken where I can enjoy coffee without it upsetting my stomach, which speaks to both the quality and preparation. The attention to detail extends beyond the food and beverages and into the overall experience.
It is worth noting that guests arriving after 1:30 p.m. are kindly asked to place their orders to go, as the café closes at 2:00 p.m. This is completely understandable, especially from the perspective of someone who has worked in the restaurant industry, and does not detract from the experience.

The weather was perfect for a friend and I to enjoy brunch at the rustic wooden table on, what my friend termed, as the “whimsical” side patio. We could only imagine what these “Grounds” must look like in the evening with the solar lighting all aglow.
While the “something for everyone” broad, appetizing menu makes for a difficult choice,
I finally settled on an Iced Chai, Yum!, and what was listed on the menu as “The French Kiss”.
A blissful blend of sweet and salty expertly achieved with a combination of warm prosciutto and bourbon maple syrup topped with a rich cream sauce and plump, fresh blackberries over three generous slices of buttery grilled French Toast. Delightful!
Just like the Grounds and the service we received!

After years of coming to Aiken, and trying all surrounding cafes/coffee shops, I confidently consider this to be the best option. The coffee and lattes are delicious and consistent. And the food is delicious and very fresh!
I work from home so finding somewhere I can go and also enjoy lunch (I’m a vegetarian and they have great options) is a fun way to get out of the house. They have lots of seating both indoor and out and the music they play is pleasant.
If you’re looking for a good coffee and/or breakfast/lunch, I would suggest trying this spot first.

Everything was deliciously fresh, made w/ quality ingredients! Staff were friendly & accommodating. The garden was in beautiful bloom They also serve a wide array of non-dairy milk options. You can tell that the chef takes great pride in his creations!

It gets busy, so if you don’t want to wait in line and for prep, either go there early or after the breakfast rush. The chai was a little weak – it’s needs more ginger kick, but the pumpkin whipped cream that topped it is the bomb. I’ve had two bagel sandwiches there, the veggie one and the “Californian” and both were tasty with fresh ingredients. I enjoyed the outdoor seating. The cafe is clean and the garden area outside is well-maintained.

So, we decided to try this restaurant because people were always raving about it on Facebook BUT for $46 the food was very underwhelming, basic presentation along with bland taste. For the price they are charging for simple bagels you’re better off going to the store to make your own for $15. The crepe we ordered was the only good food that we received. The ambience of this café is truly perfect—beautiful decor, lush plants, and an immaculately maintained space. My initial interaction inside was a bit off-putting. When I walked in, a man in the kitchen gave me an odd look, making me feel like I had done something wrong, though I wasn’t sure why. After selecting a coffee from the menu, I stood at the register and asked if I could order a to-go coffee. Despite being the only customer, none of the three employees behind the counter engaged with me until this point. The man replied, “yes,” and a woman barista then stepped in to take my order. From that point on, the experience was pleasant—the service was friendly, and the coffee was both delicious and fairly priced. I would go back, and recommend this cafe to others.
