If you’re looking for amazing pizza at a great price, The Plum Tomato is the place to go! Their pizzas are always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The crust is just right – crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. And the best part? The prices are super affordable for the quality you get. Definitely one of my favorite spots in town!

I have only ordered takeout from plum tomato so I can’t review the atmosphere.. But the customer service is AMAZING !! They have the absolute best chicken parm sub hands down !!! Last evening I was running errands ..I got a craving for one of plum tomato’s chicken parm subs I thought hmm I’ll order and pick up on my way home .. I called feeling proud that I wasn’t asking for delivery at 600 pm on a Friday .. i was shocked that even with pick up I was quoted a 40 minute pick up .. The person answering the phone apologized profusely but I just couldn’t wait .. I was exhausted and wanted to get home I unfortunately had to cancel my order .. I ordered from somewhere else and it just didn’t hit the same … I tried again today .. Service was excellent !! I was offered a discount for last nights “ inconvenience “ Being that busy is a plus for the business … As a person in the industry I could not accept a discount because they were busy … GOOD FOR THEM !! Their food is amazing customer service equally amazing

Good local place for pizza. I was surprised at how quickly the food was made. Mozzarella sticks weren’t overly fried and were just heavy enough. Pizza has a thin crust, but could have used a little more sauce. Good option on the east side of Marlborough

We chose to order sweet potato fries from Plum Tomato due to a previous visit they were wonderful. Lately, the fried items are lacking. The sweet potato fries were tough and rubbery and left a coating of grease on the roof of my mouth. We had to toss them away. Either they were fried, gotten cold, then refried, OR they were fried at too low of a temp. Needless to say, it was disappointing and a waste of money. They staff is friendly and the atmosphere, when not too busy, relaxing

I am surprised I didnt get hooked onto this pizza sooner. Its right down the street from my house… I ordered the meatball and ricotta pizza and it was very very good. Ive called to order and also used to online ordering.. Both were great!!! The boys there at the counter are polite and courteous. 10 stars. 🙂

Disappointing Customer Service from a Longtime Favorite
My husband and I have been loyal customers of The Plum Tomato for years, regularly ordering takeout—just in the last two months, we’ve spent $360 there. Unfortunately, after today’s experience, we won’t be returning.
We ordered Steak & Cheese subs, expecting the traditional shaved steak with peppers and onions. However, their website has two different subs titled exactly the same thing, with the fine print distinguishing one as steak tips and the other as shaved steak. Our order arrived as plain sub rolls with overcooked steak tips and American cheese—not what we intended to order.
When we called to explain the issue, they put us on hold for over 10 minutes. Their resolution? We could buy two new sandwiches (with a small discount) and return the incorrect ones. Essentially, we had to pay twice for what was ultimately a menu design issue on their end. When we declined, they made it clear that they took no responsibility and placed all the blame on us.
As longtime customers, we were incredibly disappointed in their unwillingness to acknowledge that the menu is misleading, let alone offer a reasonable solution. A good business values its regulars, and sadly, this experience showed us that The Plum Tomato does not. They have lost our business.

This place has changed ownership, I guess. The last time I ordered the pizzas was like around 4 years ago and it was great then. Now recently, the pizzas not so great tasting. I ordered a simple veggie pizza and it had the smell of meat in it. Not sure how. The pizza itself was a little dry and unappetizing. Hopefully the pizza owner takes note and improves the quality of pizzas.

Awful. First time which happens. But the way they took our complaint was laughable. The pizza was extremely dry and had to be a mistake Pizza that they tried to push on us. I called and told them that I would send a picture because I was feeding my kids. They said that they would cook us another Pizza but they wanted us to get in the car and bring the old one back. My wife has raved about this place for 4 years but immediately told me to throw the pizza in the dumpster. Needless to say I felt bad for the dumpster. They lost 150.00 a week customer because they wanted to play it cheap.

Got the menu as a mailer and saw the grilled cheese selection and wife and I decided to check them out.
It’s counter service with 6 booths to sit in that are pretty tired but functional.
Person at the counter was engaged and personable. Rest of the staff I saw looked friendly with each other and all busy working.
I ordered a Chipotle Chicken grilled cheese with homemade chips and my wife got the Smokey Turkey grilled cheese with fries.
While we waited I saw quite a few people come and pick up take out and it was pretty early. Food took an average amount of time to come out, I wasn’t watching the clock but certainly didn’t feel like I waited even a touch too long.
Sandwiches were good. All the ingredients were very tasty and quality. They were also in great proportion EXCEPT the cheese! Like, it’s marketed as a gourmet “grilled cheese.” It could have double the amount of cheese.
The French fries and the chips were fantastic. Fries might have been frozen but they were still really good.
All in all it was a good experience but fell short of something I’d rush back to or tell people it’s a must try.
