Not only did the wonderful, kind owner herself come and chat with us, but the rest of the staff were fantastic. The care and consideration behind our gluten free table was next to none. We don’t eat out hardly ever. Period. But momma was desperate for some pizza— we can’t wait to bring our celiac daughters back, as well!! Not to mention— they have dates for a full gluten free buffet!
Their gluten free menu was extensive. I had choices. A LOT OF THEM. They all emphasized how important it was that people with dietary restrictions deserve to experience the joy of good food too. Y’all, this place and the staff about had me in tears. And then I bit into the pizza and appetizers… shut the front and the back door… Insanely good.
The pizza itself… some of the best I’ve ever had, if not THE BEST. This is THE Pizza Place. We will be back again and again for date nights, family days, shopping trips… etc. 110% worth the hour drive for us. We can’t wait to try more pizzas, it was super hard to decide. We overbought and will reheat at home so our girls can try too!
PLUS— stop by the freezer on the way out. Tons of gluten free desserts and pizza crusts you can take home. This was quite literally the best experience I’ve had at a restaurant since our celiac diagnosis and I felt so valued and seen. I came in with the intention of eating pizza, no matter if I got glutened by cross contamination, because I wanted it that bad (I’m terrible about speaking up for myself, hate feeling “difficult” and we just don’t usually eat out)… only to be very pleasantly surprised that cross contamination wouldn’t happen on their watch. We weren’t a burden, we were fully welcomed.
This whole place is a warm hug.
The service, absolutely splendid. Such a personable staff while maintaining a really efficient dining experience. Got a chance to speak to the owner, Jim I believe, and what a pleasure. A passion project turned into such success.
The pizza place is a wonderful spot to eat. Can’t wait to try out more!
My only qualm would be the use of personal utensils for serving. I understand the theory of germs, but I saw people tapping their legs, hands, and face with their utensils, then using them on the bar. There is also the concern of lesser allergen cross contamination, as they’re not being cleaned between trips. I know my tongs had egg stuck to them, that would then go into whatever I grabbed next. A better option may be gloves at the salad bar.
I had a create your own pizza with vegan hand tossed crust, vegan garlic butter sauce, mushrooms, caramelized onions, artichokes and pineapple added after the bake. Hubby had a meatball pizza. We split some vegan garlic bread sticks and a vegan brownie. Everything was superb! Definitely going back.
The staff was friendly, upbeat and had great service.
The owner said they have a vegan buffet every so often and to keep an eye on fb for details and that they’re always looking for new vegan ideas, so if they don’t have your favorite; just let them know and they might have it when you return.
The to go boxes came with coupons for a local, family owned movie theatre.
They had three tvs that we saw from our table, one was playing some cartoon, one was playing cat videos and one had a tennis match.
Overall, a really wonderful experience. I’m already looking forward to going back.
Holy cow amazing! Very conscientious regarding gluten free. Lots of choices. Literally more than any pizza place I’ve been. Would highly recommend and would return if we weren’t in area visiting.
