This was the only kosher pizza option Saturday night close enough to expect a fairly hot delivery. Continuously for 2+ hours waiting and seeing on a well designed website that our order was out for delivery we called only to be told that there was no delivery available. They offered to cancel, but we opted for them to remake fresh & we would pick it up. It was not remade, just heated up. We ordered a plain pie, eggplant parm, & spicy fries. The quality 1st of all was compromised by being reheated more than 2 hours after “out for delivery” web notification. The food consensus (2 kids, 2 parents, 2 grandparents) was not very good. It was edible, but disappointing. Bubbie & Zadie are from Baltimore where all Kosher Pizzerias are good, the rest are from Ir HaKodesh, with many good options. N.Y. with the crazy COLI should have multiple good to very good options. The restaurant staff didn’t seem particularly well organized, but were not rude in any way whatsoever, but no warm and fuzzy service either. I had to ask for plates and seasonings and with no hot pepper packets one employee made me a container. For the particularly poor delivery information, service, and unbelievably nonexistent communication, that I have no idea what would have happened with our order if I had not called, the cashier offered to comp a drink for the child that was with us pushing close to 11:00! Half of the fries and one of two orders of eggplant & some pizza were left uneaten. My opinion is that if a good Kosher option was available in the area Pizza Block would be put out of business faster than you can say “Sholom aleichem rebbi” I would that a good Kosher Pizzeria would be a gold mine with the neighborhood demographics. To clarify we ordered delivery, but had to pick up because of business model failures.

Went in a couple nights ago and had perfectly pleasant experience. I’m a multi-generational New Yorker; (family been in Yonkers for over 200 years & Brooklyn for over 135, and we just recently moved to The Bronx), and I absolutely loved it! First time in a kosher pizza joint, but I recognized it as kosher via their inclusion of sushi (pretty cool)! 10/10 Would definitely return!

The pizza here can be hit or miss but lately has been pretty good overall. I like their mushroom slices. Their mushrooms are tasty and chewy plus dough is very crisp when served hot. I’ve tried their fettuccine dishes too. Some come with a white creamy probably cheese based alfredo sauce and tuna. It’s okay but nothing memorable. Their macaroni and cheese slices are very large and good value and quite tasty. I tried their Greek slice. It was okay, nothing special really. It has feta, red onion, Spanish olives and mozzarella. Their Spanish olive slice is good. I never tried their sushi. I eat here when I feel like it. It’s a comfortable place overall. My last mushroom pizza slice here could have been warmer and the taste was flat.

The food is Fresh and Delicious. The owner is really nice, and the place is beautiful. I recommend.

Buyer beware
The pizza is disgusting and should have never been produced. The sauce has so many extra ingredients which makes it soooo sweet and gross. They put like no cheese on their pizza and pounds of sauce. please go somewhere else!

What a crappy experience! This is what we call “out of town kosher food”–it exists in captive market where consumers have no choice. Where do I start? Counter staff is rude and inattentive, shouting at everyone, acting like they can’t be bothered. Phone was ringing off the hook today but nobody answered it. The place is loud, dark and dreary. The mac and cheese was disgusting. Pizza slices are served up barely hot. The pizzas themselves look and tasted like thawed out frozen pizza. Owner is not present. Workers could care less about the customers. And here is really crazy: on Sundays they close at 5:30–totally oblivious to that being when families might want to order pizza for dinner with the kids. Riverdale deserves better.

OK, we went here to get brown rice vegan sushi. And they have it. Not what I would normally buy at a pizzeria, but it sure is yummy. However, do not order and pay in advance. If they don’t have what you order, they don’t refund your money. Also, their poke bowl is 95% plain rice and very little protein and vegetables. Rip off.

Very bad experience. Very high prices for low quality food. A box smaller than McDonalds large fries were $5. The store is very small and the food doesn’t look too fresh. The options are very slim. Do not recommend trying.

Hospital had a catering order with Pizza Block for the holiday party. We dealt with Elisha Block via email. He listed prices and we called to pay with the credit card. He ended up charging extra and upon inquiring, he was being extremely rude in the response and told me to look at the receipt that was never sent until delivery which we saw he up charged one item. The sushi platter which he listed $70 (also on menu as such) and he charged on receipt $80. It’s one thing if there’s miscommunication (inflation happens and we get it) but being so unprofessional towards a customer is unacceptable and uncalled for.

Surprisingly good. $4.50 feels like a lot for a slice but it’s actually well worth it here because it’s great pizza. The place is usually overcrowded with students but that’s also worth enduring for the pizza. Highly recommend.
