I tried Pita Stop for the first time today and it was so so yummy! I almost finished my platter but it was too big (that’s a really good thing) we got the salmon dinner plate and catch of the day (grouper special)!
Mr. Jamal and Zayd were both very sweet we will be back 🙂

Authentic, Fresh, and Full of Flavor!
The Pita Stop is a true gem in Vestavia Hills! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and the mouthwatering aroma of authentic Mediterranean cuisine. The food is consistently fresh and flavorful — the lamb gyro and chicken kabobs are must-tries, and the hummus is some of the best in town.
The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the service is fast and friendly. Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch or enjoying a relaxed dinner, The Pita Stop delivers every time. Highly recommended for anyone craving delicious, homemade Mediterranean food!

Recently celebrated a family birthday here. We enjoyed a great evening and recommend The Pita Stop Express for any occasion. The restaurant itself is quite nice and appealing. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The service was excellent; our food came out fast for a table of 7. The menu offers something for everyone.
I ordered the Kafta Kabob Plate ( Lebanese style meatballs topped with melted provolone.)- a house specialty dish. Not only was it delicious, it was pleasing to the eye and appetite. A lovely dish! Hummus was fresh and tasty. We will definitely plan another visit soon!

Jamal does a fabulous job running The Pita Stop. I had the opportunity to be there for an event/party, and the entire staff was amazing at accommodating the group, as well as providing great menu recommendations. There was not a food item that I tried and did not like (including new foods or those out of my comfort zone). The overall service and atmosphere is excellent, and I already know this will be one of my go-to spots now! The food is authentic and fresh; it was one of the first times in a long time that I ate so much food from a restaurant and did not feel sick afterwards due to cheap ingredients, preservatives, etc.
Recommendations: Cauliflower, Philly Cheese Steak, Wild Rice (with house dressing- trust me!), Kafta Specialty Hummus, Grilled Shrimp.

Greek is my favorite kind of food so as I was on my way to the nail salon and saw the Pita Stop Express, I knew I had to try it!
They have a pick up window for convenience! You just have to call in ahead to place your order.
I had the specialty hummus with gyro added. I also got the rolled grape leaves and the babaghanouj (smoked eggplant dip). I really liked the hummus with gyro. The stuffed grape leaves weren’t the same as what I’m used to, with the lemon flavor and oily, but there were still pretty decent. The babaghanouj was amazing and packed with flavor.
I got a generous amount of pita bread to go with the appetizers. I will be ordering more from this establishment for sure!

This used to be a 5 star choice for us where we ate several times per month. Under new management, they added pepper to the tabouli, taking it out of the mediterranean food culture. They also play music that is not ethnically appropriate and too loud. We chose this restaurant in the past for its quiet atmosphere where you could hold a conversation and enjoy mediterranean food. That is mostly gone with the new management.

We had the most delicious meal celebrating my daughter’s 15th Birthday! Jamal the owner, personally overlooked the quality of the food served, surprised her with a personalized desert/ cake. I would recommend this restaurant in a heartbeat if you love Mediterranean cuisine. Will go back again with family and friends soon. Thank you.

This has been one of my favorite restaurants since 2010. I don’t know if there has been an ownership change, but the last few times I have been there it has fallen short and been very disappointing. The wait staff is ill trained. They don’t know how to have the food order come out without asking whether or not you want them to put in an entree order after you have ordered an appetizer. The food quality is inconsistent with seasonings varying from each visit. This was never a problem in the past. The hostess isn’t professional and we saw her pickup salt and pepper shakers and flatware that had fallen on the floor and set them right back on the table for the next seating. I tried to let one of the waiters know that the table that was bused next to mine, still had water rings and had not been completed wiped by the hostess. He seemed aggravated, wiped the opposite side, though I had pointed out where it was still soiled and had a snarky attitude. I write this in hopes that the situation will improve. The thought that it will continue to decline is distressing. I wish them the best and would hope that they would like to know from a loyal customer that things are off.

This was my first time at this location. I found the ambience to be very fitting. The staff was very pleasant and my answered questions and made suggestions prior to ordering. The food came out in a very short time, and was delicious. I found that the amount of food for what I paid was a good comparison. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for Mediterranean food. I’ll look forward to returning again soon.
