The Pit Room is an absolute gem. The brisket was incredibly tender and packed with smoky flavor — it practically melted in my mouth.
The mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and the perfect comfort-food side. I loved the chicken tacos — juicy, well-complimented by the cheese. The coleslaw added the perfect fresh, crisp balance to the meal.
If you’re looking for great BBQ with standout sides, the Pit definitely delivers on flavor, quality, and portion sizes. I highly recommend this local establishment. Shoutout to Jorge and Fili for the exceptional service here.

Excellent experience at The Pit Room. The brisket is some of the best I’ve had in Houston—perfectly smoked, juicy, and full of flavor. The beef ribs and sausage are also outstanding. Great sides, especially the charro beans and elote.
The atmosphere is relaxed and casual, perfect for going with friends or family, and the service is fast and friendly. There can be a line during peak hours, but it’s absolutely worth it. Highly recommended.

The place was nice. The service was very friendly. Mac and cheese was delicious! The green beans were a hard pass. They were shriveled up and cold. The beef rib was extremely salty but nice and tender on the inside. Everything was okay and we had brisket, sausage, beef rib, pork rib, mac and cheese, green beans and potato salad. I really wish that beef rib hadn’t been disappointing.

I had very high expectations. This is a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant. The food alone just doesn’t cut it. The tacos were so greasy. I was very disappointed. The staff was great; the place was cute. Breakfast is not their strong point. And the bbq with the tacos wasn’t so amazing that I’d make the trip back for lunch or dinner.

We got recommended to come here for Bbq while visiting Houston! It was all very delicious! Only complaint would be some different bbq sauce options, wasn’t impressed with the ones they had, but honestly I didn’t need any sauce!

The Pit Room is pure BBQ heaven. The moment you walk in, the smell of smoked meat hits you—in the best possible way. The brisket is absolutely to die for: perfectly tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. My personal favorite is the jalapeño sausage—spicy, smoky, and insanely good. And let’s not underestimate the ribs either; fall-off-the-bone delicious with just the right amount of bite. This place knows BBQ, and it shows in every single bite.

One of my favorite BBQ spots in Houston. We ordered “the feast” which serves 5-6 people. I will say that its true as far as the meats. They give you a ton and it was plenty for 6 people. Now as for the side dishes the portions I feel are too small so its best to just order extra on your own. My favorite meats are the brisket, because its always juicy and tender, the sausage because i like how its crunchy on the outside and juicy. And the ribs which were perfectly seasoned and fall off the bone. Now as for the sides I recommend the mac and cheese, its one of my favorites out of all the bbq placed,the seasoned oakra, and green beans. Overall one of my favorite places in Houston.

My family and I have been loyal customers of The Pit Room since we first discovered the Richmond location. When we found out there was one closer to our home, we were genuinely excited. I’ve recommended this restaurant to friends and family many times because, until now, it has been one of the best barbecue spots in town.
Unfortunately, our most recent visit was disappointing.
From the moment we walked in, the employee taking orders was noticeably rude and impatient. When customers are ordering especially if it’s their first time or they’re deciding between options — a welcoming and helpful attitude makes a big difference. There was no line behind us, and we were not taking an unreasonable amount of time. We were simply trying to place our order. The interaction felt unnecessarily cold, and when my husband ordered, the tone remained dismissive. We were polite and respectful throughout, so the experience was disappointing.
The rest of the staff, including the cashier and the team clearing tables, were kind and professional.
However, the food itself did not meet the standard we’ve come to expect. The brisket was cold, and the chicken lacked the usual flavor and quality. It honestly felt like we received lower-quality cuts compared to previous visits.
