While in the Hill Country for business, I had the chance to visit The Pinnacle Grill & Chophouse in Kerrville with a few colleagues—and it was an experience from start to finish.
The first thing that caught our attention was the building itself. The architecture has a very cool mid-century vibe that immediately sets the tone. As we were guided out to the patio, the views absolutely stole the show. It genuinely feels like you’re overlooking all of Kerr County. We were seated around dusk and had the privilege of watching the entire sunset unfold as our evening kicked off—hard to beat that.
Service was warm and attentive. Even the chef and general manager stopped by our table, which added a thoughtful, personal touch and made us feel truly welcomed.
We started with several shareable appetizers, all beautifully presented. The Wagyu jalapeño poppers were a crowd favorite and disappeared quickly. After hearing about their attention to sourcing (including having their own Wagyu farm) and the chef’s passion for smoking meats, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to experience both—starting with the Wagyu in the poppers and then going with the smoked short rib for my entrée.
The short rib was outstanding—perfectly tender with just the right amount of smoke. The fat was rendered beautifully, and the accompanying sauce took it over the top. You can tell there’s real intention and craftsmanship behind the food here.
Our group shared a couple of desserts, but I opted for an Old Fashioned and took in the final moments of sunset on the patio. Great drink, great company, unforgettable setting.
Whether you’re local or just visiting the area, I highly recommend making a reservation. I’m already looking forward to coming back with my wife for a date night to experience those views again—though I have to say, it’s a win whether you’re there for business or pleasure.

This place is beautiful! The food is primo but most importantly the staff is AMAZING! I had a special request that was likely not part of their normal game plan and they went out of their way to not only deliver but deliver with EXCELLENCE! The grace, smiles, communication and friendliness they showed me were above and beyond! My hat is off to Nick, Rob, Kaitlyn and anyone else involved in helping me out today. God bless y’all!

Hubby & I popped in on a Saturday for an early supper. The food was great, staff attentive and friendly, wine menu was nice! They didn’t have the first bottle we picked but the runner up was awesome!
We both ordered the 8oz filet, baked potato & wild sautéed mushrooms . Everything was delicious! Would definitely return & recommend!

Amazing – came for the views, (incredible!), and the food was even better! Had the double cut pork chop, and my wife had the halibut, and our guests had the Wagyu chicken fried steak and the Wagyu filet – all agreed probably the best meal we’ve had in years! (Oh, and the prime rib eggrolls and tuna tostada apps can’t be missed!)

What a beautiful place, beautiful view, and amazing staff. I was just out exploring Kerrville and wanted a view. This was recommended and it didn’t disappoint.
