Not what I was expecting but a very pleasant surprise. I consider myself a barbecue connoisseur, having eaten BBQ from all over the country. My first tasting of Suya BBQ. Note, it has more than one sause. I enjoyed the pulled pork platter. Wife had the Plantain with pulled pork which she loved. It really is a take out restaurant, with just a few seats at a high counter. Mostly used for people waiting for their food but some people do we eat there, picnic style with the provided utensils and knapkins. A family restaurant with many working behind the counter. Very friendly when it’s not too busy. Our order taker, Desiree was wonderful and came out to join us, standing by menu on the wall to help explain some of the choices, with her own reviews of what she likes. Came over after we started eating and shared even more. Great for the atmosphere of a welcoming place. Give her a bonus. My last comment is the decorations on the wall. The US Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution and a few other revolutionary war maps. You just got to love the sentiment. I’ll add a 6th for that. I be back and I encourage you come be surprised to and be open for a new tasty experience different than what you find elsewhere in Central Mass. Hope in the future they succeed and get to have more seats for a sit-down experience. I’m confident they will grow! If this review helped you decide, please give it a thumbs up. Enjoy!

Went here after my long day of work in the city. The chef had offered me a free sample of gumbo (with a lovely smile) he was trying out for the menu… and man I wish it had been. It was the best gumbo I’ve ever had. tender meat and great sauce.

Who ever the chef is needs to go back down south and learn barbecue. So much grease bread was soaked through an grease in bottom of tray. No taste of sauce. Fries looked and tasted like oil has not been changed in days. Bad enough they look burnt. Tried collard greens. Need to learn how to cook them. No one who knows how to cook never puts so much hot spices in them you have to have a drink after every bite. Would not recommend to anyone.

I really wanted to like this place, but my first experience with them will be my last. The baby back ribs came swimming in a liquidy sauce and I was unable to eat them due to the bones literally disintegrating when I tried to pick up a rib. After speaking with them, it appears they pressure cook the ribs to this point where the meat loses all texture and flavor.

The food was terrible. I spent a lot of money on poor quality food. The brisket was fatty and didn’t taste like beef. The chicken was dry. The Mac & cheese was awful. The sauces were disgusting. Both types of fries were burnt soggy and way too salty. Don’t be fooled by the 5 star reviews

This restaurant is a must try!! Just what Fitchburg needs. This is a takeout joint, we thought it was sit down. Wait was a little longer than I would like, but not ridiculous. I think the wait was worse because the place smells so fantastic. We had pulled pork and smoked chicken with black beans collard greens and mac and cheese and fried green tomatoes. I would order it all again.

We recently tried TPIF, the food was fair at best. The 1/2 chicken was extremely dry, the pulled pork sandwich was flavorless and saturated in grease, so much that the roll fell apart. The potato salad was good and unfortunately that was about it for positives. The biggest reason we won’t be back is the attitude of the guy working, he was rude and clearly stressed. When we went to pick up the food he was openly complaining about the owner, saying how he’s always left alone and expressing his disdain with swear filled rants. It was extremely uncomfortable and very unprofessional. I sent the owner a private message via their FB page and it was read with no response, I sent another and again same thing. It’s too bad the owner felt that this type of behavior didn’t warrant a simple acknowledgement.

There is a sign on the door requiring masks when you come in, but not a single employee is wearing a mask inside. I appreciate the glass between the customer and the cashier at the register, but you are still preparing food without a face covering. I would love to give you 5 stars. We brought our food home and threw it in the oven for a while before eating, and it was great, but even still, we don’t feel comfortable returning.

Just learned about this place! Ordered a brisket sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, coleslaw, and Mac and cheese. Person on the phone call was really pleasant and had our order ready in 15 minutes! Hope this restaurant sticks around. It’s really nice to have something besides pizza in a community. I will definitely be back.

Had an uber eats offer so thought I would try pig in flames. The order arrived on time, the short rib was tasty, the shrimp were fine, but the Cubano sandwich was burnt beyond recognition. It was placed in the container so the burnt side was down and after I took a bite and flipped it over and saw how burnt it was I threw it in the trash. Make sure you inspect your food before you eat here. I wish I could add a photo so I can show you what this sandwick looks like.
