10/10 THE REAL DEAL. I’ve had more than a dozen Phillies through Chicagoland and this is THE ONE. Perfection in an honest philly crafted from a Philly native. Their cheese sticks are also delicious. The atmosphere bleeds philly pride. We drove an hour for this place and it didn’t disappoint.

Found this place on a Reel review and figured we stop by while in town for the Bears game from Tennessee. Best cheese steak outside Philly! The bread was perfection and the buffalo cauliflower bites were excellent. The fries were hot and cooked just the way they should be! The service was fast and friendly. Head on over to see Nick and he’ll hook you up with some jawn!

Excellent food. I read reviews about this place and decided to give it a try with my kids when I was in the area and it was definitely worth the stop. Owner greeted us as soon as we walked in and was happy to make recommendations when asked. We ended up getting the classic with cheese wiz and onions, and it was the best I’ve had and that’s not hyperbole. The owner also came to check on us occasionally and was happy to answer any questions I had. It’s a non-assuming, casual spot but they pay attention to their customers. They also do a great job keeping the place clean. Try this place out – you won’t regret it. As far as I’m concerned, I know I’ll be stopping in whenever I’m in the area.

I was referred here by Mira, who recommended I try their Philly cheesesteak—and she was absolutely right! I ordered the original Philly cheesesteak, and it was delicious. They bring in fresh ingredients daily from Philly, and you can taste the authenticity in every bite. The hand-cut fries were fresh, crispy, and full of flavor. On top of that, the guy at the cash register was super friendly and awesome, which made the experience even better. Big thanks to Mira for pointing me here—definitely a spot worth visiting for a true Philly cheesesteak experience!

Stopped by Philly Special and had a great experience overall! The food gets a solid 4 stars – I ordered the large Philly and it was huge – definitely enough for two meals. The sandwich was flavorful and satisfying, and the fries were on point. At $26 for the large combo (sandwich, fries, and drink), it’s a bit on the pricey side, but honestly worth it for the portion size and quality.
What really stood out was the service and atmosphere – a full 5 stars. The guy at the register was super nice and attentive without being overbearing. He even had a great sense of humor, which made the experience feel relaxed and enjoyable.

Very satisfying, well done.
I am assuming that the owner’s son took our order. This maybe 11 year old at the counter was perfect combination of fast efficient, careful, polite, and just excellent at order taking. You know it right away when you talk to him.
I am sure he gets compliments all the time so when my wife said he deserves employee of the month, I had to bring him down to earth with a wink and the suggestion that he needs a demotion instead. (Wink) He Saw It, He Smiled, and didn’t even flinch.
Just as I expected.
Good job kid and good job Phillies.
