Unexpectedly really great food and drinks! Unique and delicious desserts, too!
Smoked meats, tasty flatbread, nice tap beer selection, yummy hush puppies. Great service. App based juke box. Kids are allowed, too! I love this place.

I ordered the Tuscan flat bread and without warning it was spicy I did not eat the rest. When I came in before for the same thing it was not spicy infact it was perfect I’m really disappointed for no warning. I honestly didn’t like the fact the music was locked however I completely understand the vibe they are trying to gain and it was a mix of music. Much applause for that. The bartender was great very comfortable and gave me options for food. I feel this spot is great and will come again however the food needs to be fine tuned. I have a serious medical condition that makes it to where I can not endure spicy. Other than that very good spot.

My favorite place to hang out with friends who play pool . I love the food – steak and vegetables, wings, and dessert, along with many other options. All the bartenders are the best here, and the owner is very friendly. This is the spot if you want to hang out with your friends.

I love this bar, and it is kid friendly during the day! My daughter is on the local hockey team, and we love coming here to eat after games and practices. The prices are comparable to other restaurants in the area, due to inflation. The food is always good, and the staff is always friendly. The bad reviews I have seen from this place are from people who complain about every place they go to, just look at their other reviews. The owner is friendly, if you’re misgendered get over it or politely let them know otherwise. Also, it’s a bar and it’s loud so words are often misheard. Don’t let the negative reviews deter you from enjoying a great, local establishment.

Went to try to watch a specific NFL game, even called ahead of time to make sure they could…. We get there and it’s not a sports bar like Google says…. On a juicy NFL Sunday they are hosting a poker tournament and playing poker music, not anything related to football. And then they couldn’t even play the game we were looking for. Had to go to another sports bar. This place isn’t really a sports bar if they prioritize poker over America’s most popular sport on a nearly playoff NFL Sunday.

I went there just to play pool with my son because it was close to his house. While there I ordered some tacos and didn’t think anything of it. The guy at the register and the brought us our tacos a few minutes later came by and asked how the food was and I said it was good and he replied ” I can’t tell” I thought he was joking and brushed it off. My son ordered some fries later and the guy came by and asked again how was the food and they replied good, his reply “I can’t tell. My wife and future daughter in law went to pay the pool bill and said they guy said they same thing and seemed mad that he didn’t get a tip. When we were leaving I heard him talking to other customers laughing and telling them what he said to us. Later on I looked at my bill and found the guy gave himself a $10 dollar tip. This is fraud and I will be reporting this guy and this establishment to the right places. I just hope this was an individual and not everyone on staff at this place. A good night became a horrible one because of one person who thought they deserved more.

This place is very clean and nice. It’s obvious that a lot of work was done. There are 8 new pool tables and 13 wall mounted video screens, new floors and furniture. If you want to go to a comfortable place with your friends, The Penalty Box will do! They also feature live music and comedy acts. You don’t have to leave Pierce County for a nice place to watch a game, see a band, or play a game of pool!

Love watching my husband shoot pool league here! The service and food were great, but it was super cold in the bar, I didn’t hear or feel any heat come on while we were there. Hubbt tried to shoot without his vest at first, but it was too cold, and he had to put it back on. I saw a table across the way with a space heater plugged in, too. I’m so glad I was wearing my heated Vest! Turn up the heat!

Came to watch a kraken match live. As it is said to be a hockey bar. Not 1 TV had it on. I know the bartender noticed me but he’d rather help however ealked to the counter instead. Thins for easily 5-10 minutes.

We’re a group of international students who wanted to watch a soccer match between Uruguay and the USA. We had looked at several sports bars in the area but “Bobby” was the first one to answer the phone at The Penalty Box and he said he would accommodate. My hispanic friends and I NEVER once felt uncomfortable or unwelcome. Other patrons were joining us and asked us questions about the match. I didn’t expect the food to taste as good, having tasted “bar-food” before. I ordered 3 orders of Coconut Shrimp and the fries were amazing. Dale, the owner runs an amazing bar and this place manifests the best of American friendliness and cheer so much so that I brought another group of international students. I’m very glad my international friends got to experience that American culture here at Dale’s place.
