The food was good, the service was good, nothing overly outstanding about this barbecue.

Stopped in midweek about 7 and the dining room was not too busy so we were seated immediately. The wait staff was helpful and attentive. They had a good selection of beer and wine.

We had the heavy hitter sampler. I was disappointed that the meats didn’t have much of a smoke flavor to it. Not sure why, but I would rate it a 3.5 out of 5. The sausage and the bbq sauce were the only things that had flavor in it.

$10 lunch specials are very nice and food was very quick to come out.

Food was good but first impressions not so much. There are birds nesting above the main entrance. Dropping a lot of poop on unsuspecting customers. Customers stepping in it and tracking it inside. Posting to get owners attention as employees didn’t seem to care.

Stopped to eat here on our way back from hiking, and wasn’t disappointed. The food was excellent, we both had the different samplers so we were able to try their different items. Sides were excellent as well, and the fried okra was a perfect addition to the large quantities of meat served (we doggy bagged at least enough for another meal at home!). Food delivery was quick, server was friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend this if you’re in the Banner Elk/Sugar Mountain area and looking for a relaxed meal.

Food was really good. We are from out of town and kept seeing this restaurant and we had to stop. Got so much food on our plate. Brisket was so good. Our waitress was the sweetest little thing

We’ve passed by this place 100 times and finally decided to stop in. We waited for a table with almost 50% of seating available. I’ll give the benefit of the doubt with service – they were understaffed. Unfortunately, the BBQ was not good. (If the server is hesitant to answer what the best thing you’ve got on the menu, you know it could be a questionable meal.) Pic of our sampler attached. We went into Boone and grabbed a pint and a pizza.

My girlfriend and I were visiting the area from the Upstate of SC last weekend. We spent the day cruising around and stopped just before 3PM for some BBQ.
