The Patio | Igloo Prix Fixe Dinner Experience at Unscripted
Reviews
Be prepared for a prix fixe for smaller parties ($65 per person in 2025). 20% gratuity is added automatically but does not go directly to your server. The igloo was warm and cozy with a fireplace. Would have liked a separate seating area with a loveseat away from the dining table but that is only in the upgraded one for groups. It was worth it for the experience.
Service – Very Slow and Poorly Managed
We sat inside the igloo for 30 minutes before a server even arrived, only to be told they didn’t know we had been seated. Another 30 minutes passed with only water on the table. It took a full hour just to receive drinks.
When we asked about the long wait times or tried to place drink orders ahead (because of how slow it was), the server simply laughed as if we were joking and walked away. Several drinks we ordered were out of stock, and our server brought substitutions without asking or even telling us – for example, guests who ordered Michelob Ultra were brought IPAs.
Each time our server entered the igloo, they immediately dropped items and ran out, making it difficult to request anything. I eventually had to raise my voice and wave to stop them from closing the igloo door just so we could ask questions.
The experience description says guests have a 1.5-hour window to enjoy the igloo, but we were there for 3.5 hours. Courses were spread out with extremely long gaps in between, and by the time dessert arrived it was 11:00 PM (for a 7:30 PM reservation). We were tired and ready to leave.
Food – Inconsistent and Not Worth the Cost
1st Course: The beet salad was fresh and enjoyable.
2nd Course: The short rib meatballs were overly spicy – one serving even had pepper seeds still in it – and one guest couldn’t eat theirs. The butternut squash ravioli filling was good, but the glaze and broth created an odd flavor. It felt mismatched, especially since ravioli is usually served with a cream sauce.
3rd Course: Two guests ordered hangar steaks cooked to the same temperature; one arrived nearly raw, the other overcooked. The crispy potatoes were the highlight of the entire meal.
The pork chop was extremely dry and almost inedible, and the chicken entrée came with no side and was a very small portion.
Desserts looked like they had been prepared far in advance. Portions were tiny, and the lemon tart was served in what appeared to be a mini store-bought aluminum crust that was stuck to the dish. By this point, we weren’t even interested anymore.
Overall the experience did not match the beautiful photos online. For the cost, we felt the food quality, portion sizes, and service fell far short. Gratuity is automatically included, and based on our experience, it felt like the staff knew they would receive 20% regardless of the service provided. They didn’t seem to care or bother to apologize.
By the time we left, the surrounding igloos were empty, the lights on the trees had been turned off, and we didn’t even get to take any nice photos – which was a disappointing end to what was supposed to be a special birthday celebration.
The idea behind this igloo experience is a great concept but when you can’t execute it properly, it shouldn’t be offered until you can!
Beyond that, the food quality was lacking and the service was slow…and there was a 20% gratuity included. We were hoping to enjoy a fun holiday tradition, but unfortunately this was a one-and-done experience for us.
Our total came to $268 for a meal that, based on the quality of both the food and service, should have been closer to $100. We won’t be returning.
Several dishes were misleading. The short rib meatballs were described as such, but what arrived were very small portions that tasted like basic ground beef, wrapped in slices of green pepper; nothing resembling short rib. The shrimp cocktail was missing two of the three sauces listed on the menu (the Bama white sauce and horseradish aioli), which significantly detracted from the dish. The buffalo burrata was advertised as being served with sourdough bread, but instead came with standard table crackers, which felt like a clear substitution without explanation. The most disappointing entrée was the sugar-brined grilled Berkshire pork chop, which was completely bland and had the texture of boiled meat that seemed to have been quickly grilled just to add grill marks.
Overall, the meal felt like a waste of both time and money. The igloo experience may look appealing, but the food quality and execution do not justify the cost. I would not recommend spending your money here, based on our experience.
I made a reservation for four people at 7:30 PM. When we arrived on time, the host immediately insisted our reservation was at 7 PM. I showed him the confirmation email clearly stating 7:30 PM for four. He led us to an igloo with two sofas and a tiny table placed awkwardly in the middle. When I asked if any igloos with an actual dining table were available — like the one we had last year — he told me our reservation was for two people so that’s what he had available. I showed the email again stating the reservation for 4 people, and he ignored it, giving us a “take it or leave it” attitude.
It was lightly raining, we were all dressed up, and we remembered how good the food had been last year, so we decided to stay.
It took a long time for a waitress to greet us and bring water. She never brought utensils or napkins, and we had to repeatedly ask the food runner instead because our waitress was inattentive and forgetful. It genuinely didn’t seem like she was trying at all.
The drinks were extremely overpriced and not worth it. A canned cider was brought out without a cup — and the can itself was dirty.
Then came the food. The starter salad listed “greens, beets, goat cheese, and honey.” What we received was greens, barely any beets, and no goat cheese at all. To make things worse, the dishes arrived wet from the rain since they didn’t bother covering the plates as they carried them outside. Everything became a soggy, cold mess. Each dish we received was more disappointing than the last. They were even out of one of the three dessert options, and the dessert I ended up with was not edible.
To top it all off, they automatically add a 20% gratuity, which came out to $65, for some of the worst service we’ve ever experienced.
