The Hidden Bean is a small, but cute little place. The coffee shop is located at the bottom of the stairs. It is small, dark, with limited seating. Majority of the seating is outside. The parking lot is very small, carpooling is best when coming with a group or when busy and whenever The burger place is open. The views are beautiful. The breakfast items were good and the coffee was okay.
I will need to come back during the Spring and Summer time.

I love small treasures like this place! The lady was super nice and the coffee was immaculate! I had a cortado and a fresh baked feta spinach pastry. So flaky and perfect. Mom had the Americano. As we went to leave I got an iced caramel latte to go. Highly recommend this place! New favorite place:)

I feel bad dropping their review and may be bias to what I expect from a coffee and tea house .. I’ll give my honest review in case someone may have high expectations..the drinks are creative pink lady , fauxtini, lots of various toppings and flavors cold foam etc .. the taste of the beans seem good , it’s not a specialty coffee shop so don’t expect perfectly pulled shots , pour overs or anything like that .
I had pink lady hot version ( with reduced amount of syrup added ) leek parm pastry and iced matcha to go. The barista was kind and had good understanding of the recipes and ingredients and got my modifications right. The pastry was average
It’s more of a homey atmosphere feels like you’re coming into a friends house for coffee
I like the decor and historical Spartanburg relics .. and the location makes it a nice place to relax

I went 20 minutes out of my way to visit this coffee shop. It was a waste of time and money. I ordered a cold brew with Carmel, with some cream. I got cream and Carmel not sure if I actually got any coffee. The server said, “I hope it’s good” when she handed me the drink. It obviously was not. The place was not clean and I would not recommend this place.
As for the comment from the owner. I did NOT ask for plenty of cream. She asked if I wanted cream and I said yes.
As for the not having time to clean up. I would have thought she would have been cleaning up when I walked in and she was not.

Not sure why this place has high ratings. Maybe it was better in times past. The coffee Cafe is off of Hwy 29 and buried behind trees and brush. Fortunately they have “Open” banners near the road. It looked deserted when I arrive. I had to walk past a closed hamburger restaurant and down some stairs. Still I wasn’t sure it was opened. The outdoor patio was not swept. It looked closed except a sign on the door stated it was opened. The interior is very small with a strong musty smell. I decided to try a mocha and chocolate chip muffin. The muffin was cold and appeared to be made at a mass bakery. Definitely not made from scratch. The mocha was below average. Unfortunately not a place I would visit again.

The hidden bean was the coolest coffee shop I’ve ever been to! I love history and seeing a speakeasy converted into something modern with the old charm was a nice touch. The menu was extremely vast
And the seating was unique. You can sit outside on a patio that over looks this gorgeous foresty valley or cuddle up inside at one of their tables. I am a big reader and coffee drinker, this place was the perfect combination for the two.

I have been to the Hidden Bean many times, and I always get superb, personal service and delicious coffee drinks! My wife and I owned a coffee house for several years, and this one absolutely hits all the marks for us! Cozy, clean, high-quality, friendly, and a unique, refreshing outdoor environment as well. I just love it!

At 4.6 stars, I’m sure a lot of people have had great food here. Not every place is spot on every time. Our experience, well?????? The setting was great, kinda made it feel like home. Our burgers were not what we expected. I would say stop in and give it a try. Our visit was not what we expected but it doesn’t mean yours won’t be.

Quaint (literally hidden) prohibition era/speak-easy location. Huge selection serving locally roasted beans. Tried their famous flight…toasted, pink lady, PSL, & Apple latte.
Drip was perfect.
Great quiet back porch looking over a tangled web of under forest. Perfect Sunday respite location
