It was okay. I will try again. The Creole Cajun Pasta was VERY watery, sauce didn’t even stick to the noodles. Daughter got corn dog, it cracked while cooking and burnt quite a bit of the inside, they tried to hid it on the bottom covered in chips. Wasn’t too impressed, but wasn’t extremely disappointed. No IPAs to choose from either. Service was great. We had an excellent Waiter, very attentive and friendly. We will return.
First impressions, the decor is tropical themed trying give the impression you are in the Caribbean or South Pacific, bamboo poles and thatch covered booths. It really just came across as dated. It probably looked great 25 + years ago.
However, it was not the decor that was recommended, it was the food. My friend had the “boneless chicken wings” half in the Buffalo sauce and half in their house chipotle bbq sauce. These were actually huge chicken tenders breaded in a thick coating a fried. He really enjoyed them. The bite I had was cold.
I had the coconut shrimp. These were large shrimp butterflied and then bread in your typical coconut batter. They were good, good well. They were served with a key lime dipping sauce which really brought the dish home.
The server was kind. She was really busy but other staff helped her so we really didn’t have to wait.
The bar was huge, with a great selection of spirits. We couldn’t partake due to being in town for business and needing to drive the 3 hours back to OKC.
The view of the lake from our table was nice and definitely the key attraction of the property.
All in all a decent restaurant. It could use some updating. I would probably hang here when visiting the lake for fun as I’m sure the atmosphere on weekends is great.
Check it out when in Grove.
Steak and Ribs are my second favorite meal here. Ribs are top notch and my Ducky Dog loves the bones when I come home.
I like the beans but often I swap them for a Ranch Dressing salad because there ranch dressing is also very tasty.
Come patient as long wait lines exceeding an hour are common during peak dinner time. I have waited two hours on peak nice evenings but I know to expect it. And It was worth it to me.
Crab night you might miss everything if you don’t show up until 7.
But… It’s worth the wait.
Be a big tipper!
