Amazing Santa Pants cocktail! PERFECT fried green tomatoes, crunchy, obviously hand breaded. Our supper of tasty marinated chicken with a sherry cream sauce over delectable mushroom risotto was magnificent

Loved the welcoming and friendly environment. We are on from our of town and actually came back two days in a row. The food was top notch and the staff made the experience fun. Wish I could transplant this plas into my home town!

Okay…this was not going to get a good rating at all considering we waited near an hour for our food. The drinks we ordered left alot to be desired. However, what saved them through our wait was the gentleman singing outside their establishment. Voice was nice, decent song choices and just kept the flow going. Clearly making those who were in attendance or in passing happy. Then we get our food…fabulous flavor but main entrée was not hot so I am sure some of it’s luster was lost. They were very apologetic and made it up to us. The pork was fantastic otherwise and the best fried green tomatoes I have ever tasted. Would like to try again as well as a few other items on their menu. Hot and much quicker is my only desire.

Normally I don’t leave reviews but..terrible experience. My partner ordered the steak at medium temperature and it was served raw..jelly like. And the waiter was very kind and took it back only to be returned still pretty raw and filled with tendons.

I ordered the pork chops, as I cut into one of them it was completely raw. Also jelly like.

The broccolini was also raw. Again our waiter was kind and said he would do something about it because the owner was there.. we received the bill with a twenty percent discount. In my opinion, more should’ve been done. Especially if the owner was present even though they never approached us to see what happened when both dishes were sent back. I didn’t finish my meal and neither did my partner. Unfortunately a terrible experience. Had to pay $70 for two unacceptable entrees and two sodas even with the discount.

We just moved to the area and have tried a different restaurant every Friday night. The Parched Oak is by far some of the best food we’ve had yet. A great little place with amazing service and delicious food. Our waitress was April but the whole staff checked in on us, refilled our drinks and took excellent care of us. Husband had blue burger with some of the yummiest fries and I had a cilantro rice bowl with shrimp. We will be back!

My wife and her cousin go out on Sundays and enjoy one of many restaurants we have downtown I think 21 or more the perched oak was the first restaurant we ever ate at in Deland it was under a different ownership back then four years ago it was really good yesterday my wife took her to the perch Oak they walked inside door typically open but there was an odor inside she said it smell old and moldy so they sat outside she had a vegetarian rice dish and my cousin had a chicken sandwich at 2:00 in the morning she was having chills uncontrollable urges to go to the bathroom it is 1:30 in the afternoon she’s still sick from this food poisoning very disappointed it is a very nice spot and I know that in the past there have been food inspector violations.
The owners need to step it up and turn this dive into a quality eating socializing spot weather inside or outside the food prep needs to be better handled obviously something was wrong with the rice
Take this to Heart I’m very proud of living in Deland and I tell everybody about our downtown area in the variety of fine dining that’s available
Those that visit must always leave with a good dinner experience

Walking artisan alley looking for a decent place without a 30-40min wait and found this gem. I ordered the shaved ribeye sandwich on 07/25/2025, out of three other patrons one being at the bar and another older couple, we waited 34:00 minutes after ordering our entrees. Fried green tomatoes were great and provoked good signs to the dinner course, that’s not the case unfortunately. I got a broke down burger with mushrooms that sat way too long in a salty base, no cheese or jalapeños and fries that had sat and been dropped again to attempt to pass as acceptable. My partners risotto lacked everything but salt, ultimately tasteless except for the same style mushrooms and were again so salty that we took two to three bites each and refused to finish anymore. We were discounted at a standard employee rate for something we didn’t eat nor wasn’t made with any care. I had originally wanted a steak dinner but noticed to sudden price jump of $28.00 to $32.00 which altered my choice for a simple steak dinner. I’m glad I did not order my steak here as I would’ve become less accommodating of the new staffs lacking experience and poor quality procedures. The new bartender Q did his job well and was tipped properly regardless of the kitchens poor judgement in what is considered 4.2/5 establishment.

Met a lady friend here the other day. She drove from three hours away and I suggested we meet at The Parched Oak because of its casual atmosphere. We had some drinks and split a Margherita pizza appetizer. I greatly enjoyed everything. I think my lady friend enjoyed the experience too because upon escorting her back to her vehicle in the rain, we shared the most passionate kiss I think I’ve ever had. It was a day I’ll always fondly remember and this was in large part due to the wonderful experience at The Parched Oak!

As a deland local this place is alright I
Got the chicken tenders and they were good the fries were not so good very thin and border line burnt and not good flavor, I got another dish and it was very sloppy and super greasy seems like it’s supposed to be more of just a bar and not really a restaurant. I don’t think I will come back and if I do it will be my last choice. Server was very nice tho definitely feel if they bumped up there food game this place would be a hit!
