Always a great breakfast at The Pantry! Wife had her usual, Mike’s Basket, which used to come in potatoe skins but now it’s American fries, she actually prefers it that way. My new “usual” is the Garden Surprise baked pancake with either ham or bacon added, so good!

A great small business.
I was visiting from out of town.
The food was hot and prepared right.
Service started great very helpful and attentive a great 1st impression. End of meal no refills and dirty dishes left in front of us.
It wasn’t busy no reason not to end well..
I would come back for an affordable good meal.

The specialty baked pancakes are unique and delicious. I had the pineapple and coconut one. The pancake is the size of a large dinner plate. Can be shared but so good you won’t want to share.

The food is great but be prepared as the quantity given is a little to much. Service and prices were good and there was a wait (line was out the door) but it moved quickly. While the restaurant was very busy they never make you feel rushed to leave.

I ordered the Mike’s Eggs Basket, which the menu clearly says is stuffed inside 2 potato skins. What I got was nothing like that — just a pile of overcooked eggs thrown together, with bits of eggshell in it, and absolutely no potato skins anywhere. It was honestly unacceptable.
When I asked about it, the employee told me they stopped serving it in potato skins “years ago.” Then she added that “customers here like it this way,” as if that was an excuse. I told her I had the exact same dish at their Van Dyke location just a couple of months ago, served exactly as the menu describes. Instead of fixing the issue, she basically brushed it off and blamed “customer preference,” even though no one asked my preference or any preference at all.
If they truly changed the dish years ago, then why hasn’t the menu been updated? And if everything is based on preference, then they should add a section on the menu so customers can actually choose how they want it. Right now it just feels misleading and careless.
This experience was incredibly disappointing. I can make a better breakfast at home without even trying — and that says a lot. My family and I always went to the Van Dyke branch, but this was our first and definitely our last visit to this location.

Sunday, April 6th, 2025 it hurts me to say this because a once favorite spot, the Pantry on Hall Rd, the Pantry will be empty of us ever more. I can understand something not right, but everything was less than par. I do blame the server because she did not serve us she absolutely blew it. . I specifically expressed I couldn’t wait for fresh squeezed oj on the menu. What they served me was from concentrate. A Florida gal I am and know the difference. If they were out, she could have told me, I would have understood but would not have ordered it.. They were slammed, so we expected to wait, but I did not expect poached eggs that looked like they were sitting on grits. The crepes my grand daughter ordered were gluey and unappealing, and my partner ordered an omelet, the only item that was hot, as his potatoes were cold, just like the crepes and poached eggs. The straw that broke me was asking for a coffee refill when our food arrived. It never came, nor did the server to see if all was ok. We weren’t given the opportunity to set things right. Will not be back.

Was very disappointed.
My food was everything but appetizing.
Over cooked/burnt potatoes.
I am not exaggerating at all.
Waitress took it back replaced it with burnt/dried up potatoes.
Then replaced it with some that were edible.
My baked omelet was nothing to brag about either.
Don’t mind paying the price on the menu but I would like to enjoy my breakfast that I paid for.

One of the most delicious breakfasts I’ve ever had. I ordered the Deutch strawberry banana and a side order of home made sour dough bread. The Deutch is supposed to be a smaller version of the German pancake. It was huge! I’m scared to see how big the. German is! The bread was so soft and fresh. Definitely eat here if you get a chance.
