Outback Steakhouse in Abilene is one of those places you go to when you want a solid, comforting steak without any fuss, and the ribeye is easily one of the best reasons to stop by. From the moment it hits the table, you can smell that grilled, beefy aroma that makes you want to cut right in.
The ribeye is nicely marbled, which is exactly what you want from this cut. When ordered medium-rare, it comes out juicy and flavorful, with a good balance of tenderness and bite. The seasoning is simple but effective, letting the natural flavor of the steak stand out rather than overpowering it. Each bite has that rich, buttery taste that ribeye fans look for, especially around the edges where the grill adds a slight char.
One thing that stands out at the Abilene location is consistency when the steak is cooked to the right temperature. When the kitchen gets it right, the ribeye is satisfying from the first bite to the last. It pairs well with Outback’s classic sides — whether it’s a baked potato, mashed potatoes, or steamed veggies — and of course, starting the meal with their warm bread and butter never disappoints.
The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it a good spot for family dinners, casual dates, or even a solo meal when you’re just craving a good steak. The staff is generally friendly and attentive, and they’re usually willing to fix things if something isn’t cooked exactly how you asked.
Overall, the ribeye at Outback Steakhouse in Abilene delivers a hearty, flavorful steak that hits the spot. It may not be a high-end steakhouse experience, but for the price and comfort, it’s a dependable choice when you’re in the mood for a juicy ribeye.

Went and sat in the bar area. Was a while before we were greeted where a server from another section asked had we been helped. Our server who was also the bartender seemed pretty clueless. Ordered steak salad and prime rib. Steak salad was great no complaints. The prime rib had a really sharp done sliver in it that when I bit down went right into my back jaw. Very painful. Manager came over and she looked liked I interrupted her lunch and said “I heard you got a bone in your prime rib.” I said yes it went right into my jaw. Her response “sorry about that. Let me know if you need anything else.” And walked off. No wonder this place is always empty. I have worked for Outback during college and this place is far from that. Will not return

Was seated during a slow Sunday lunch. Promptly greeted and placed our entire order then was ignored for 20 minutes, no drinks or anything. Then the blooming onion finally came out half battered and looking sat on so we left. Manager was apathetic as we left.

Ridiculous maybr we should stir the food before we server it up in a bowol. Js. And then when i went to use the pepper grinder it’s truly disgusting. I went to turn the lid and my hand is full gross oil or gravy or i just not sure!! Did the management even come over to apologize NOPE!! DO BETTER OUTBACK!!

I haven’t been to an Outback in a few years— based on this visit, I probably won’t return to another one. The food was “okay” and the service was “okay”. The filet mignon with the lobster tail was disappointing. That filet mignon did not look like filet. It was barely half an inch thick and….. . It took 35+ minutes for our food to arrive. A salad, the fillet and lobster, and two orders of chicken strips. I had three young boys with me, and that was way way too long for them to be sitting and waiting.
I didn’t realize until our food arrived that my son had been playing games on the little table top device, and I had already been charged for him playing games.

Our group of 5 called ahead to make sure we could be seated. Was told it would be 30 mins. Np. So we headed there. Arrived at 720 was told we would be seated momentarily. We were finally seated at 750. Sat at table for a good 10 mins before server came over and took our drink order. Received our drinks and server took our order. Order 2 appetizers which came out pretty quickly.. waited another 40 mins before our food came out and it was barely warm. One of the party members steak was supposed to be medium and it was well done completely thru. That was taken off our ticket. The restaurant was busy when we arrived but it dissipated pretty quickly after we sat down. When we left there was only 2 other tables in the restaurant. We only got 1 refill on drinks and I was left out of that. Server gave one member the wrong drink when he refilled the drinks. The last time I came with a much bigger group our server was more attentive. But this gentleman must have been new. He was attentive to other tables but not us. My bill was $155 and the suggested tip was $35. I have no problem leaving a good tip if the service is good. But this time it was certainly lacking. I definitely won’t be back especially in the evening time.

My favorite steak place is out back hands down. I feel like they have way better selection and way better product. Even though you don’t get to pick your steak. I feel like you get a way better experience Plus there are more options to choose from other than just steak and the drink selection is divine 10 out of 10 recommend

Just had literally the worst Outback experience. I ordered the prime rib sandwich thinking about the size of it in the past. I even added on a blue cheese pecan chopped salad. The sandwich was a third of the size it normally was. I think my 5 year old would still be hungry after eating it. I don’t even know where to begin with the salad. No blue cheese, pecans per really anything other than lettuce. It’s also the size of a small side salad that I was charged $5.99 as an add on. What a deal! Needless to say you won’t see me back at this restaurant during my visits here every again. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves because honestly you don’t need to be a food critic to see what’s wrong in these photos. I’m posting it what it should have looked like according to current photos on their app and what I got brought to my table. I don’t think I’ll visit another Outback for a at least a couple years until the experience is long forgotten

Date night tonight took us to the Outback Steakhouse tonight. I’m not usually a big fan of steak, unless my spouse grilled it, but the steak here was excellent, tender, very flavorful, grilled to perfection, moist. The side salad has nice fresh thin English cucumber slices, purple onions, cherry tomatoes, fresh grated cheese and lovely croutons. The house made ranch dressing needed a little more pepper, but overall it was beautiful and delicious. The generous helping of fresh steamed broccoli was also done perfectly. They brought us a lovely mini loaf of dark honey wheat bread with whipped butter and delicious fresh brewed tea. We were very happy with the meal, the service and the atmosphere m. It was spacious and quieter than most other Steakhouses we’ve visited. It was nice to be able to enjoy our own conversation. To top it all off, dessert was a big slice of New York cheesecake with a decadent raspberry sauce! I wish I’d taken photos of everything for you but I did ask last take one of dessert. I can’t vouch for Outback in other locations, but in Abilene Texas, it was one of our best experiences in a long while.

I’ve eaten at the Outbacks in California and never ever had a good meal. Tonight’s dinner was perfection! Seriously! The filet was so tender and well seasoned. You couldn’t cook the broccoli any better. Everything was on point including the wait staff! We’ll be back!
