This was my first time visiting Palmetto Caffè, and I was truly delighted with the experience. The place is absolutely beautiful—well designed, spotless, welcoming, and very refined in every detail.

The breakfast room, where we enjoyed our meal, was elegant and carefully maintained, creating a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. The staff were extremely accommodating and professional, clearly very skilled at what they do and attentive to customers’ needs.

The food was excellent, and our breakfast was truly delicious. Since we visited during the Christmas season, the atmosphere was especially lovely—warm, festive, and relaxing at the same time.

I highly recommend visiting Palmetto Caffè, not only for the quality of the food and service, but also for the overall experience. It is worth stopping by even just for a visit, as there are also shops inside and the hotel itself is beautiful to explore.

Pricey but worth it. The bitter poached salmon was good. The club sandwich was the best club sandwich I’ve ever eaten. The crab cakes were good. The service was outstanding. Loved our waitress Jacqueline. Very attentive and accommodating. It was a gloomy day and cannot think of a better atmosphere to have lunch.

Celebrated my birthday at Palmetto Cafe and it was a beautiful experience. The setting is elegant and classic, with a lovely, refined Charleston feel. Service was attentive and gracious, and every detail — from the presentation to the quality of the food — felt thoughtful and elevated.

A perfect spot for a special occasion or a luxurious brunch. I left feeling truly celebrated and look forward to returning. Thank you for making me feel celebrated. (We also brought both our children – and everyone could not have been nicer to them!)

The restaurant is inside the hotel and was southern charm at its best. The decor was so lovely it reminded us of some of the scenes in Gone with the Wind. The service was top notch as well. We ordered seafood omelette and crab cake benedict. The crab meat was too salty to our taste and a little fishy too. Overall, the experience was very much to our expectations and we had a great time.

My husband and I had brunch at the Palmetto Cafe to celebrate our anniversary and as a new tradition to begin our new year celebration. From the moment we arrived until we left the property, we were celebrated and catered to in every way. Our hostess, Grace and John our waiter did everything to make our experience memorable. The ambience was wonderful and the food was delicious. We ordered Seafood Omelettes that were filled with fresh tasty seafood. The vanilla lattes had just the right balance of sweet and strong. The beautifully crafted surprise dessert, complete with a chocolate anniversary placard, made us smile and feel incredibly pampered.
Thanks for making our morning so special.

Shrimp and grits was absolutely amazing. Best we’ve ever had with a flavorful twist in the crispiness around the shrimps.

Mussels were perfectly cooked without any chewiness and the sauce was phenomenal. Not too salty which is rare.

Turkey club was good but too much bread.

Service was overall really attentive. Hostesses were rude with validating parking. They did not have any more stickers and had no idea what to do otherwise. They gave stark attitudes because they simply didn’t know any other answer. It’s sad that something so small of this really brought down our overall look of it.

We had our rehearsal dinner at the Palmetto Cafe at The Charleston Place Hotel, and I can honestly say it was an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, the team went above and beyond to make our evening special. We requested a custom menu of Chinese dishes to honor my husband’s cultural background and they crafted a meal that not only met but exceeded our expectations—our relatives from China were genuinely impressed by the authenticity and flavor!

The venue itself was stunning, offering a perfect blend of indoor and outdoor space that allowed us to enjoy both the elegance of the restaurant and the amazing Charleston October weather.

A special thank you to Joanna—she was incredible throughout the entire process. Her professionalism and warmth was so appreciated and we felt truly cared for and like our vision was heard. I highly recommend the Palmetto Cafe for any special event—it was the perfect choice for our rehearsal dinner! Also the coconut key lime cake was AMAZING!

The setting and decor is beautiful, it’s an airy beautiful green setting with high tea style crockery and beautiful Christmas decorations all around.

Food however left a bit to be desired. We couldn’t be around to enjoy the buffet but the a la carte breakfast that we ordered was not that good – fingerling potatoes were bland and over cooked; and eggs were too dry and flat. Coffee was a saving grace.

The Palmetto Cafe at The Charleston Place is a true gem, providing an elevated dining experience that blends Southern charm with upscale sophistication. Known for its inviting atmosphere and attentive service, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner.

The buffet, priced at $25, offers a wide variety of fresh, high-quality selections that highlight local ingredients. I found their omelette station particularly impressive—each omelette is crafted to order for $15 and filled with ingredients of your choice. The cafe’s iconic she-crab soup and crab cakes are must-tries, each dish showcasing a refined take on Lowcountry flavors. The peach cobbler was another highlight, perfectly light and a true taste of Charleston.

With natural light streaming into the dining area, the cafe provides a bright, airy setting that adds to its charm. The food and service are consistently excellent, and our server made sure we felt well taken care of throughout the meal.

Whether you’re dining in or taking out, The Palmetto Cafe is an experience worth savoring. Prices reflect the quality, and while it’s on the higher end, the experience, atmosphere, and attention to detail make it worth every penny.

This was my most DISAPPOINTING meal in Charleston. In a city full of culinary delights, this was so terrible I was a little shocked. The atmosphere was beautiful and the server was attentive. He did not charge us when we had to order items separately to actually have something edible (yogurt and toast). The brunch buffet is quite simply a disgrace. The amount of money they charge for the quality of food is a joke. I have never had a worse buffet experience and they charged $65 dollars a person. The food selection was limited (no yogurt or berries available, really?) The pastries taste like the cheap kind you’d get from a low end grocery store. Like something you’d get at a $50 dollar a night hotel. The desserts were the same. The meats were dry and unappealing. Lastly, the young people at the omlette station were trying their best but they clearly did not know how to cook at all. They drowned the omlettes in oil and either burnt the eggs or woefully undercooked them. Do not come here. Go literally anywhere else. A McDonald’s would be better.
