Absolutely incredible. The food, the staff and the atmosphere are out of this world! Young lad running the show (Kenny) was so polite and professional. The chef was a character with so much charm. Still not hungry the following day. Will need to come back for the seafood boil soon also

Food was great and tasty and the service was good and affordable price and great atmosphere in the restaurant. Only few things.
-Asked by first server if want water and we agreed yes and wasn’t bring in. 2nd server has to bring it in for us.
-Mentioned that we eat too quickly and the food was not ready yet. “Should say that will bring the food main as soon as possible when ready.”
-Expecting that Seafood Risotto to be a bit wet rather than turning to be like a seafood fried rice(though its tasty).” and some mussels are broken and not open.

where do i even start with this absolute gem?! every single member of staff was warm, inviting and helpful. the second we walked in, we felt comfortable and at home. key word- at home!! this place has the loveliest homely and cozy atmosphere. the food was delicious, especially the seafood chowder! i could have eaten an enormous bowl of it and then some. also the salmon was probably the best salmon i’ve ever eaten. the portion sizes were very generous, you definitely get fed here!!! good prices, amazing hospitality and delicious comforting food made with love. what more could you ask for? this is the kind of place where you can really tell that the owner takes pride in the restaurant and i’m definitely going to be returning.

A good selection of food but one of the meals arrived lukewarm/cold and service was so slow there was no-one to even tell. Atmosphere dipped due to other tables either having to close the front door themselves to stop the cold coming in every time it was opened or trying to flag down the staff to order their meals/pay the bill.
The Guinness bread was nice though.

This place is named after a strip of land between Scotland and Ireland that is big for fish.
Described as a seafood comfort restaurant The Pale really fits the bill. I think they arranged the seats very cleverly, the menu is simple enough to be sustainable and I like the Irish feel with Colcannon and all the rest of it. We really enjoyed our time here as a family and there was plenty of helpful kind staff on hand. This place is a real boost for Lincoln and I would recommend it to almost anyone. In fact, I’m recommending it to everyone. It has a great atmosphere which is natural and relaxing. Just what the doctor ordered.
The menu, whilst not extensive, is creative and varied. The chef obviously knows what works well. Thanks for looking after us all so well

Lovely atmosphere, head chef very friendly and accommodating. Service a little slow but overall very pleasant and friendly. Guinness bread was amazing, huge bowl of mussels which 1 of our party was delighted with. Only negative was the risotto, a little bland and very little seafood.

Small intimate set up. Newish establishment and after reading two negative reviews glad that I didn’t agree with either post mine and my partners visit. Like all new places finding their feet which I for one liked as they seem wholly true to their game which appeared to be wholesome and truly tasty food. My first go at Irish cuisine and myself and my partner will be back. Whilst at the bar watching the kitchen team at work it was nice to see a professional yet happy place to be in there. I am not a great lover of people in general so it was nice to be somewhere where everyone equally was nice and all about good food which it was. Thank you The Pale as we will be back to try both the Monkfish and risotto. The Red Zinfandel wine was also very nice. We had the chowder to start with and the surf and turf burger and we were both stuffed. Our main lady was Liz who was an absolute treasure. I didn’t catch the lady’s name who made my New Dublin Sour cocktail, loved her. All in all each team member smiled so thank you all for a lovely evening as you did not disappoint.

Really cozy restaurant. Busy at 8pm on a Friday which is a good sign. Just a couple of small criticisms… the service was very SLOW. It shouldn’t take 30 minutes from ordering a glass of wine to recieving it and only then after a reminder! We ordered a selection of small plates which were delicious. There was no salad on the menu but they made one up without a problem. It would also have been a nice option to have a cheese board rather than a dessert as not everyone has a sweet tooth but likes something after dinner with a glass of red or port etc. Although the service was slow the service was with a smile. The wine was delicious. It was our first time at this restaurant and even though the service could have been better we would return hoping it will have improved. The food was worth it.
