The service Michael provided was impeccable – he went out of his way to introduce the menu to us and was amazingly attentive, which we appreciated very much. He kept an eye on us in case we needed anything at all, and was always two steps ahead! He made our dining experience both fun and five-star.
The food was also just as wonderful…we thoroughly enjoyed the beef wellington and the sauce served alongside it was delicious. The cast iron rolls were minature, so cute, but just the right amount for two people and baked perfectly. The scotch eggs were also very good! Desert-wise, the cheese cake was just not a winner….however, the bread pudding was remarkable. I wish the serving was larger – definitely not sharable, haha.
The only reason the food category didnt get a 5, was because the food menu was literally just one page. Yes, ONE. The remaining three pages of the menu were all beverages and spirits, LOL. I would have expected a larger food offering in a themed restaurant….but then again, it is a “pub”.
Overall, great dinner and service. We will be back!
Fish & Chips were cooked perfectly and crispy we had to get a second order. The pasta was awesome, the wine from Oakfarm was yummy! Definitely a good food & customer experience here.
The food was spot-on, and both the orange juice and Bloody Marys were fantastic. The only reason I gave the atmosphere one less star is due to the strong mothball-like smell when we first walked in. I get that the building is nearly 150 years old, but the initial odor was a bit overpowering. That said, it didn’t take away from the overall great experience.
Our orders were Chicken pot pie, sea bass over risotto, calamari off the appetizers side and chicken Tikka Masala with saffron rice. Every dish was cooked correctly and we all enjoyed a fantastic meal!
We ordered the Beef Wellington, which was cooked perfectly and served with a flavorful sauce-definitely the highlight of the meal. The avocado burger was also delicious and came with crisp fries and fresh toppings. Great flavor, good portions, and everything was plated nicely.
Service was friendly and efficient even with the crowd. If you’re looking for a spot with elevated British-inspired food and a fun bar scene, The Oxford is worth a visit!
The seared potato gnocchi with melted kale was in a flavorful sauce that we couldn’t stop eating. And the finale was the chicken tikka bowl which was served with a fragrant saffron rice. It was worth the drive up from the Bay Area for lunch but we found out there is one in Sunnyvale!
