We ate outside and loved the views. The food was very good when it arrived but our service was not great. The strawberry mojito was great! We waited over 20 minutes and had to ask the host for our server to even come to our table and then the server brought 3 waters and 3 rolls of silverware for our table of 4 and took another 15 minutes for our last person to get their water. When our food arrived, one person received their chowder without a spoon and asked for a spoon and one was never brought so after 15 minutes we had to ask the host for one. Another person only received part of their meal and someone else was brought out the wrong dish. It took over 20 minutes for the last 2 people to get their meals. We were given free desserts due to the long wait and poor service. The baked Alaska was great! Our plates and silverware was already cleared, so we asked for silverware for our dessert and never received it, so we had to go up and ask. Hoping that this was an off night for the service.

It’s possible we ate on a bad night. During our appetizer course, the bread was stale, so that gave us a bit of concern. The fillet was much tougher than it should have been at medium rare. The fries and mashed potatoes were grossly under seasoned and the halibut steak had very little flavor. We had planned on dessert, but decided not to push it any further and just left. It certainly didn’t taste like a $100+ meal for two. The atmosphere and service were amazing however. The view is fantastic, as would be expected.

Both the salmon and halibut were delicious. I had the curry halibut, and while the rice & curry was kinda bland, the fish itself was fantastic. I wouldn’t order the focaccia again.

We ate at this place called the Overlook which had beautiful views of the Denali National Park mountains. It sits on top of the crows nest resort. Kicked things off with an IPA, and then the appetizers were all great. The first was the Focaccia with alaskan sea salt, it was airy and soft. And came with a whipped ricotta spread that was light and sweet from the honey. They actually hook it up with the ratio of ricotta for the amount of bread you get. The king crab Rangoons were creamy and had the sweetness of the crab actually noticeable in the bite. The Smoked Salmon dip was very generous with the Alaskan salmon portion, the ritz crackers went surprisingly well with the smoky salmon, but I think they set the bar for themselves where they should’ve been homemade crackers. One of their signature dishes is the Alaskan Halibut Steak that comes with a homemade tartar sauce, whipped potatoes, and carrots. The tartar sauce added a tangy rich flavor to the halibut. The coffee was underwhelming, but the dessert certainly wasn’t. The thing to get is the baked Alaska that is a brownie with moose tracks ice cream encased in meringue flambeed tableside.

Very good restaurant: Crab and artichoke Dip and Colossal Prawn Cocktail are excellent.

For the dip, crispy bread is hard and oily. it’s better to have ciabatta or non-crispy bread.

Grilled Alaskan Salmon is little mild.

Mixed Berry Crumble is superb.

Alec is very friendly and attentive.

Loved it. Delicious food with a very kind and helpful staff.

We had a variety of options that were all good

Definitely try the bread and crab dip for an appetizer.

The calamari we well prepared, fresh, and tender and it had a delicious cilantro sauce with it. I usually prefer cocktail sauce but it was better with the prepared sauce.

There was no rush to get us off of the table when we were finished.

Thanks for a nice meal.

Very good diverse food served in a gorgeous view of the mountains (at least from the outdoor deck). The onion soup was delicious, and the grilled halibut a break from all the fried halibut elsewhere in Alaska, though a bit more done than I’d like. The Sriracha fries were quite tasty (and the portion huge). The crab in the salad not as flavorful as I expected, making it not worth the asking price in my opinion. The baked Alaska wasn’t my favorite: I couldn’t really discern the flavors of its different parts.

Dinner was absolutely amazing. We had the Steak Au Poivre and the Halibut Steak and both were delicious. Definitely go for the Baked Alaska for desert. You won’t be disappointed. Service was impeccable.

We really enjoyed our meal here. The service is so friendly! I made a reservation and they even called me that afternoon to give me a heads up that there were some limits on the regular menu because they were days away from end of season closing. We brought our own wine for dinner and our group had a great time. The food is not fancy, but it is tasty and filing.

What a hike up the hill, but worth it. Beautifully decorated restaurant. Our food was good once we got it, they forgot to fix my husband’s salmon. It took over 1 1/2 hours. They did give us a discount for our wait.
