It has been years since I’ve eaten here. Let me tell you that they still don’t disappoint. Food was fresh as if they just caught it. I used a 3rd party delivery and it was worth every penny. It was neatly packaged and arrived hot. This is one business that has not changed its recipe..Definitely on point❤️

Hands down the best fish and Chicken in Detroit. Service was phenomenal also. Spaghetti was really good. House made tartar sauce was spectacular. Son said the Mac and cheese was great. Chicken wings and fish was fried to perfection and tender and juicy. Highly recommend.

My entire order was delicious and very well packaged. It’s apparent that they actually invest in their business, everything tasted fresh. This is one of the cleanest and most sanitary seafood restaurants in the entire city. I also appreciate the pleasant and patient staff. It’s always a pleasure to patronize a black-owned business that clearly takes pride in ensuring each customer becomes a repeat customer.

They changed the greens recipe up a bit. Please change it back. I always order the catfish fillet, greens and spaghetti dinner. I have been eating waves for about 24 yrs. Very fresh, very clean restaurant.

I give them an A+ it was my first time ever eating their food truly grateful for my niece Nicole I was treating her to a corned beef sandwiches and in route she changed her mind to go and get some seafood then she said the magic word I’m treating you Uncle James ❤️ and again she said more magic word’s order whatever you want it was just the two of us and I was driving so she called our order in she then asked me if I wish to split a dinner for 4 as a seafood platter with 2-3 types of fish your choice & wing’s or jumbo shrimps wt fries an cold slaw an extra crackers, side med mac & cheese she decide to put an extra 1/2lb jumbo shrimp just for her self to take back home for lunch the next day so she reminded me again that it were her treat she’s not Petty or Penny pitching and neither am I so it was no need to discuss the cost of the order we all know good- delicious food you got to pay for it as we pulled up to the restaurant you can imagine it was pretty busy normally a good sign it’s some good eating their food and just before she got ready to exit and go pick the order up I handed her my American Express gold card at first she kind of resisted taking it few minutes later I had to convince her you always treating us our family at least this time let me treat you… all of those who have read my story truthfully I’m not a big seafood fan until now their seafood everything was so much food and was so good delicious wow can’t wait till I come back to Detroit Michigan just to go there and get everything my niece ordered before.

Be aware at price gouging at this place. They are robbing unsuspecting customers daily at this place! You can’t make this up. I placed a phone order for $12 and was charged $22 for 2 peices of pickerel and fries when i physically arrived. Hear me clearly, when I questioned the price difference I was challenged to prove the online price I saw by an angry employee while still trying to screw me over. Despite my efforts to mediate the situation as a customer who remained professional despite being robbed rudely (can I at least be robbed politely!?!?), I was asked to leave the premises by the manager of onsight for questioning the price difference!?! Sorry, can’t tell you about the food- didn’t have any. But I can tell you to be careful because they steal and they are extremely rude and disrespectful. Let me make this better, THE COLLEAGUE WHO ENTERED THE ESTABLISHMENT WITH ME AND ME MYSELF HAPPEN TO BE HIGHLY CONNECTED IN STATE GOVERNMENT- I could bring the HEAT DOWN ON THEY #$%- and they are clueless. Fortunately I have other things to do.

Tried this for the first time and the food is amazing. I got the catfish dinner with yams and fries. The fish is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. It practically melts in your mouth and it’s delicious. Much better than the catfish I’ve had at other places. The yams were also really good! I’ll definitely be going back when I’m in the area!

Thee best fried catfish ever! I like their catfish so much that I never get to the bread. I make sure that it’s my last stop on my way home so that nothing interferes with me eating the fish while it’s still piping hot. The seasoning is soooo good. I have been going to The Original Waves Inn for almost 20 years. Someone in the family needs to open a location on East 8 Mile… east and west locations.
