It is inside a Buona. The ice cream was tasty, I just got mint flake. Someone I was with had the rainbow cone, suggestion was to get it only if you would like most of the flavors. There was a lot of seating, and I’m glad I went. I would suggest bringing your kids here. I also am attaching some photos of the place

I enjoy getting an original rainbow cone and I’m thankful there are more locations to enjoy them. We accidentally discovered they have a junior size cone which provides just as much flavor and the (required) obligatory drip(s) on my shirt and pants despite my efforts otherwise. They currently offer the Jr size for a buck off on Tuesday making the trip less costly.
I’d suggest a trip to the original Rainbow Cone at 92nd and Western for the true experience. Walk in, stand in line and sit at the tables out back. The original location is on my personal list of Chicago favorites. Thankfully they no longer close in the off-season…

Wow what a great ice cream place. I really enjoyed the rainbow cone. It has five flavors. Chocolate, strawberry, pistachio, orange sherbet, what they call palmer house which is like a French vanilla with cherries in it, all piled into one cone. They don’t do scoops but rather like flat layers. It’s really good.

It’s so original and so darn good…you must try ❤️ it!!! We took a quart home and by the time we made it back, it melted slightly that we got 2 spoons and dug away at it The best ice cream scream concept!

Rainbow Cone Ice Cream Shop just opened in Darien, IL on Cass Ave. Tried the Original Rainbow Cone which is their specialty. It comes in Baby, Small or Large. I chose the Small. There is an uncharge for the waffle cone, otherwise it comes on a regular cone. I opted for the waffle cone. I appreciated the cone holder that they gave me as it helped with drips and also made it easy to hold. All 5 layers of the cone were really good. The bright and full exterior of the building (pink and white polka dots) with bright picnic tables and a white picket fence all add to the ambience and fun of the place. There were also lights strung under the roof and I am sure would be a nice place to go at night. Will go back again. Below are some photos I took

Who doesn’t like 5 different flavors of ice cream stacked on top of each other? It’s a little different from what I remember because back in the 80s, they would put 5 full scoops of ice cream on your cone, and now it’s more like squares. Either way, it was great.

Next time you get a craving for ice-cream and you’re in the Chicagoland area give them a try!! It’s a unique and fun experience. Their ice-cream is DELISH!! Pink/white are my favorite colors so I was automatically drawn to this place. I can’t wait to go back!!

Ice cream is good. There are many flavors, and for freshness I give them 4 stars.
It’s almost like a tourist destination here. Tons of people on tje weekends. Other locations are built inside a Buena beef so they’re not as well known in the suburbs. This location is a standalone store.
