Very cute diner! Lots of options from menu to pick from. The banana shake was creamy, rich and refreshing! Chicken soup was good. The bacon was crispy, pancakes were fluffy and eggs was good. The waffles were crispy and soft inside. The chicken wings has crispy skin and inside was still moist (chef forgot about this order, took a while for it to come out).

There is very nice wait saff here. They were pleasant, friendly and offered a authentic mels dining experience. I would recomended anyone who’s hungry for some great food to stop by. They even gave my son a paper car to play with and food arrived quickly. Great place to slow down and relax a bit in a busy side of town.

Family gatheri g prior to tour of Gab 40’s. Party of 5 seated at circular table ordered kids hot dog meal, two tuna melts, two Mel’s Classic Burgers, and a chicken fried steak.
Hamburgers were too large to finish, steak was good, and kids meal was just right. Kids meal served in a Classic 57 Chevy container, nice touch for a 50’s themed eatery. Tuna melts were consumed by our vegetarians and seemed to meet all requirements. Service was friendly, no waiting to be seated, and accommodating as our group trickled in. Bottomless drinks were refreshed in a timely manner without being prompted. Off the street parking was nice given this site is right downtown. Restrooms were clean and well stocked. Bar seating was available. A nice trip down memory lane… with food.

Really fun diner. We had burgers and shakes to go. Everything was really delicious. The server was super friendly and very attentive. The kids got their meals served in Santa sleighs since it’s near Xmas. Definitely will be back again.

Went in tonight with a party of 6 for my son’s birthday. Marcus and another gentleman (did not get his name) were our servers and they were both fantastic. Great attitudes, pleasant and attentive. Food was great. Place was clean we don’t come here often but will definitely return based on today’s experience. Thank you Marcus and the gentlemen who split our milkshakes- your service was stand out. ✨

It was a great experience. It was bright, it was clean, and the staff were very welcoming. The food was hot and delicious. The chorizo skillet and the beer-battered cod were both excellent. Definitely will be going back again.

Great service! Christian was very attentive and courteous. Service with a smile on his face the whole time. You don’t see that much anymore these days. We appreciate the experience. I Haven’t been to Mel’s in many years and it was my guy’s first time. Will be back.

Fun diner spot just outside midtown. I was immediately greeted by friendly staff and felt welcomed. The atmosphere and decor matched the 50’s diner theme and the jukebox was a great detailed touch. The food was a tad on the saltier side if you’re sensitive. The portions are smaller than your regular American portions. The bacon was cooked to perfection.
