We make our own dough and use only the best mozzarella cheese. Some of our favorite dinner specialties include Chicken Vesuvio, Homemade Lasagna, a variety of pastas with our family Marinara sauce, Chicken Parmesan, and hearty sandwiches. Our specialty, is you!

Spring 2018. Friendly services. Crunchy crust and flavorful fillings. Picture of whole pizza was from first visit. Other dinners looked good. Dining area needs updating, new dining chairs and new table clothes would brighten the place up….. Update….February 2019…ordered large sausages and green pepper for pick up. Taste of pizza would have been better if they weren’t so skimpy with the sauce. Who ever heard of a dry pizza. They also were skimpy with the green pepper and cheese. Plus free half order of spaghetti that had maybe a fourth cup of sauce. I was looking forward to trying their spaghetti. But this half order was a big disappointment. Being consistent is so important in the restaurant business. $ 27.55 including tax…….Went back 3-19 and pizza was so much better. More sauce, green pepper and cheese. The owners or manager hopefully got employees all on the same page.

Ordered a family size Cheese pizza for pick up when I get home I discovered a dead roach imbedded on the pizza. Very disappointed since I heard nothing but great reviews about this establishment. I’m still waiting on a call back from the owner.

John’s Sicilian style marinara is the best you will eat outside of Italy…here, in NWI !! Good (and good for you) food has been my passion and my career from growing up on a farm to organic gardener to chef to teaching nutrition/culinary arts at community colleges and a university. I have also eaten my way through Italy several times with Italian friends so yes, I do feel qualified to say “this is THE best.” It is authentic: taste, texture, ingredients, even color. Buy jars to give as gifts. Your friends will beg for more.

It’s been awhile since I tried John’s pizza. I recently heard good things so I thought I would give it another try. Awful, the pizza was so greasy. The crust so thin and soggy I could not even pick up a piece and eat it without everything falling off. Never again.

Quaint atmosphere – dated, but not needing an update either because it’s filled with memorabilia on the walls. Pizza is always excellent. Service is always top notch as well. Definitely will return, as we have been going there since their original Calumet City location years ago.
