No wonder this “plaice” is nominated for best fish and chips in the country!.. absolutely fantastic!!

Not just the food, but the service standard is exceptional. The nicely tiled areas including the toilets are well presented.

Their chips were in no way greesy, obviously using clean fresh oil. The fish was amazing. Their curry sauce was one of the best I’ve had. And their desserts were top tier restaurant standard.

We ate so much that we are now layed up on a Sunday afternoon with food comas

Well done guys, especially the chef.. Leeroy
See you again soon

Had a lovely fish and chips lunch on a beautiful sunny day in Worthing. The food was very fresh and perfectly cooked – 1 x haddock and chips and 1 x huss and chips. The batter was light as a feather and not unlike that found on tempura. Service was great – thank you Lauren for looking after us and always smiling!

The extremely friendly Chipwick staff team provided such a wonderful dining experience by serving up some of the best Fish & chips that I’ve had in a long time with an amazing English breakfast cup of tea to match! I will definitely be recommending Chipwick to my friends & family for it’s fantastic food & for the staff team that serve everything with a smile , which is rarity these days. Please keep up the great work! Best wishes Adam

I was in Worthing for three weeks, and during that time, I got takeaway from Chipwick five times. Though I did try two other fish and chip spots in town, Chipwick was my favorite. I tried the cod, huss, haddock, and whitebait. The cod was my favorite. Everything was cooked to perfection, with tender, ultra-fresh fish and a light, crisp batter. Sadly, I can’t eat chips, and they do offer a side salad, which was nice. The coleslaw was a bit mayo-heavy for my taste, but the mushy peas were good. The service is friendly, and there’s a nice little seating area out front where you can enjoy your takeaway. Chipwick played a big part in my memorable holiday. Highly recommended!

Fantastic fish and chips, great service and always a lovely experience…if you want fresh ingredients, delicious fish and perfect chips then this is it! I had the cod which was fresh, flaky and perfectly cooked. My sister tried Huss for the first time and the waitress described the flavours as a stronger and meatier fish which was spot on and very tasty. We also shared the jumbo shrimp and we all enjoyed them. We will be back next time we are in Worthing.

Had large cod and chips and a pot of curry sauce. Easily the best bit of fish ive had, no grease and the batter was perfect. And the curry sauce was top notch as well. Zero complaints from the staff either, friendly, swift service. The only downside is that i was visiting and live over a hundred miles away. Next time im down that way, i will be making a beeline for the place thats for sure.

My wife and I have been eating here for 20 years we travel alot so can’t eat here as much as we’d like but I must admit in the last 5 years we’ve been putting this chip shop to the taste test, by trying as many chip shops around the South (on a Friday obviously)as possible. We go caravanining alot so fish n chips is a easy choice and i must say this shop is still the best by a long shot. The food is excellent every time but the staff are even beter and even recognize me and I get it’s Dave as I walk in for my order, and despite what the cynical here might think I’ve no family or friend link to this shop

I opted for the festive chips, gravy, stuffing.. etc. and added the battered sprouts..! Absolutely delicious! And so much food that I had to get a doggy bag.
My friends had the amazing fish and chips.
Lovely atmosphere and service. Would thoroughly recommend

Visited the Chipwick fish and chips restaurant on the 22/09/24 for a meal whilst on holiday. Met by extremely friendly staff member who gave us a table in the restaurant. Had regular Cod and Chips and the Thai fish cake and new potatoes, and the curry sauce.
Arrived promptly and it looked amazing
Portions were plentiful and looked well presented.
Both meals were very good. I did mention to a staff member that it was the best cod and chips I’ve ever eaten.
The curry sauce was again some of the best. Fruity with a nice bite
Had some desserts which were also spot on
I would definitely return without any hesitation. Thoroughly recommend for the best fish and chips in Worthing

Recently, we went to Chip Wicks for an early Mother’s Day meal. Although we had a great time in general, unfortunately, we seemed to have more fun with the company we were with rather than the meal we had and the restaurant itself.

We had quite a broad selection of meals between us, yet, unfortunately, we all seemed to feel the same way about everything we ate. We all thought that the chips, fish, burgers, and chicken tasted a bit underwhelming. It wasn’t bad by any means, but it just wasn’t anything special. We also all felt that the chips, in particular, were very underwhelming. Although some people might prefer a lighter chip, to us, they just felt disappointing—especially since we have had much fluffier chips at other places. When “chip” is in the name, it’s a bit disappointing when we all had the same feeling about them.

The staff, however, were lovely—polite to guests and seemingly kid-friendly as well. My only issue with the service was that it took a bit longer than I expected, but they weren’t slow by any means. This could have been due to various unforeseen circumstances.

Now, although this didn’t really affect much, I found some of the decorations around the restaurant very out of place and not how I would have decorated it. For the most part, the restaurant was cohesive in its design and followed a theme, yet some parts—like the small plastic leaf decorations on our tables—just looked a bit tacky. There were also a few plants scattered around that I didn’t quite understand how they fit in. Additionally, I found the lighting to be an odd choice. The restaurant had several different types of lights in different sections—some had lights directly in the ceiling, others had hanging lights, but every section with hanging lights had a different design. Some were glass, some were just a cage around the bulb, and then the kitchen counter had metal covers around the lights.

The meals were certainly on the more expensive side for a casual meal, in my opinion. While you did receive a full meal’s worth of food—if not a large portion—they did offer takeaway boxes for those who couldn’t finish, which was appreciated. Unfortunately, I just can’t see myself justifying spending that much again on a casual meal, and I can’t say that I would recommend others go there either.
