My visit to the Charbroil was okay. We had a regular and a junior sized fish fry. I would have preferred a little more crisp, but again, it was okay. The service was not okay. After our food came, the waitress never came over once to see if we needed anything, and that’s never okay. For just okay, I’d rather try somewhere else.

This definitely isn’t the “Original” Charbroil. Haven’t been there in years, but it certainly has changed. Not the yummy hamburger stand of old. My husband ordered the burger and a cup of chili. The chili was meat sauce floating in grease. Our server tried to correct it, but it was really to late at this point. I had a $20 steak sandwich with soup. It was okay. Not heavy on the onions and mushrooms but tasty.

Visiting Rochester, my first stop is at original Charbroil restaurant at island cottage rd. The food is amazing, best hamburgers, Texas hotdogs, onion rings. Service is top notch. Still making their own hamburger meat. I had double sausage burger, double hamburger and two Texas hots. Plus chicken sandwich. Trying to get my fill. I use to work here 30 plus years ago. Great place to have dinner with your family. I have 4 more days to enjoy eating there before I fly back.

The ribs fell off the bone was nice and soft with a great BBQ sauce. I don’t like spicy and it was perfect. Little sweet but not overly. Mac & cheese was traditional flavor but liked it creamy. French fries were perfect nice and crunchy but not greasy. Fries tell me a lot about a place. Definitely going to bring the family and friends here. Wait staff friendly and attentive.

A group of 18 cyclist got caught in a rain storm and stopped off for cover. We were welcomed under their tent and ordered burgers, fries and a vegetarian lunch. The food came out quickly and it was terrific! The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Last night was the first time we went to this restaurant. We ended up seething down under the tent outside and we loved the music. The food we ordered was really good quantity and great quality. I was impressed with the fish and other food.

Fun place with a smaller bar and good diner type food. Ate a typical burger and homemade rings which were good! Had a nice band the Coupe Devilles playing which was fun. Needed a bigger place for dancing and a better stage for the band in my opinion. We still had a fun evening!
