I gave The Ordinarie five stars purely for their Christmas pop-up because it’s truly top tier and hands down my favorite holiday bar. The space is decorated to perfection. I loved the over-the-top, gaudy holiday décor, and the cheeky Santa was my favorite touch. The vibes alone are immaculate and worth recommending for that reason.
The food, however, was just okay. My boyfriend and I ordered the deviled eggs, mac and cheese, wings, and cauliflower, and we both agreed it was mid and a bit overpriced for what it was.
The drinks were a different story…we loved them! I got the alcohol-free hot chocolate, which was incredibly rich and flavorful. My boyfriend ordered the eggnog cocktail and later the alcoholic hot chocolate, and he really enjoyed both.
Despite how busy it was, our waitress was attentive and lovely, which we really appreciated. We had a reservation and were seated right away, which was a huge plus given the long line and how packed the place was. When you arrive, they give you a card letting you know you have the table for 90 minutes, and they kindly wrapped things up right on time.

SIL picked a winner with The Ordinarie!! We walked to the restaurant and the area is very nice and well kept. We had a party of six and they were able to seat us on the patio right away. If you sit on the patio you will see a variety of dogs, a lot of people walk this area with their pets so that was a treat. Juliana was our server and she did an excellent job taking care of us. We started with drinks. The Blue Mermaid and a couple of Old Fashioneds. Blue Mermaid was one of the best our friend has had and Im sure she will try to figure out how to make it since this is not a drink you find at just any restaurant. The OFs were top notch. Ordered a couple of appetizers. Both highly recommended by Juliana. Popovers (excellent, our favorite) and the Chicken Pot Pie Bites (also excellent). Cesar salad was a normal cesar and had very good dressing. Soup of the day was Barley and it was exceptional, I normally eat half of the soup and this one was so good I ate the entire cup. Our friends ordered the Patty Melt with sweet potato fries and it was delicious. We ordered a Tavern Burger with fries, customized it which was nowhere near the burger on the menu and it came out exactly as ordered which was awesome and most places don’t get it right, good job on this one! Juliana did an excellent job and made sure we had what we needed at all times, answered all of our questions and did great with all of the special requests we had. If we ever visit Long Beach again we will definitely return.

This was our first time dining here, and it exceeded expectations. The gorgeous decorations transformed the space, and the staff, who were all dressed up, were exceptionally friendly and inviting. Even with a small wait (understandable, as it was the most popular spot on the block!), the experience was fantastic. The food and specialty drinks were delicious, and the live band kept the energy high. An absolutely fun, high-energy vibe—we loved it!
Just be prepared for a premium bill; it was pricey, but we felt it was fair value for the special, immersive event and overall quality.

Can’t say enough wonderful things about this adorable spot. I didn’t even realize they were going a Christmas Pop-Up event but was pleased to be promptly seated at the bar (I was dining solo). They also didn’t charge an entry fee for the event which I thought was really cool. They went FULL OF NUTS with the gawdy, cheesy, flashy decor and I don’t think I could love it more.
There’s Garland EVERYWHERE, Christmas music is blasting, and the menu (including cocktails) are dripping with Holiday Cheer.
Staff were attentive and present. The cocktails were delicious (I tried the Run Run reindeer and the Dancing Sugar plum and both were fabulous though the latter is more of a dessert drink).
The Chicken Pot Pie Bites are ridiculously delicious, the flaky crust is messy and tasty and the sauce they come in almost had that southwest chipotle flavor…. Just amazing.
I think whether they are doing a Pop-up event or not, you’d be pleased, but the extra decor sure made it fun!

Not sure how we found out about this place, but my wife got a tip and boy. Is it a good one? This place had the most amazing Halloween decorations set up in their restaurant. The food was over the top great. The service was over the top even on top of that, and overall, we gave this place an A plus plus. kind of tucked away, not easy to get to necessarily, but boy, when you get there, be ready to be surprised. This posting is a little bit late. Considering it’s almost Halloween, but if you’re able to see this and get over there while the Halloween decorating is still up, it’s worth the payoff alone, everything was worth it again. The place is great. What a nice little find. you’re welcome for this one, again.

I always come here for Christmas! I loved their decorations! Sadly some staff weren’t really nice. But ofc there were some pretty good staff too. Would have love spending more time. But you do get a limit time there to just have some drinks.

From start to finish, this place hit all the marks.
First off: ambiance. The design is effortlessly cool without feeling pretentious. Moody lighting, interesting décor, and the vibe just works. You walk in knowing they paid attention to the little things.
Service? Top notch. Attentive without hovering. Friendly without being fake. They made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in.
Now, the food & drinks. Delicious. Inventive. Each plate felt like it had its own personality. Cocktails? Bold, balanced, and beautifully presented.
Bonus points for live music- it added just the right energy without overpowering your conversation.
If you’re in Long Beach and want somewhere to impress a date, hold a chill but elevated get-together, or just treat yourself — The Ordinarie belongs on your “must visit” list.

While the restaurant decor is adorable everything else suffers. We went to the Halloween pop up during Dodgers world series. It wasn’t busy. We were led to a corner 2 top by the bar. We asked for a booth & were told they couldn’t accommodate that. Shortly later a 2 top was sat at a booth & the booth we requested remained vacant out entire visit. Our server was MIA. Our introduction from her was some “joke” reminding us not to steal their holiday mugs. My partners water was never filled. The drink was weak & the food mediocre. I’ve been twice. Though the concept is cute.. the place isn’t all worth the hype.

Went to Halloween pop up on Promenade. Food delicious, but portions a ride small for price. Drinks in really cool mugs, but lots of ice, beers were priced great, had an amazing blonde ale i loved. French dip qas tasty came with salad or fries I had salad. Really amazing interior. Somewhat chaotic with service, brought extra order pit pie bites we didn’t order and then went about asking if someone had ordered french dip, seemed chaotic but then they weren’t capacity and working really hard. Servers were busy but nice. Didn’t need them much as we had seen menu online and knew what we wanted. The menu is limited but this is a tavern so it makes sense in that context. primarily a bar. Really good tasty food, super cool inside, definitely recommend on ambiance alone. Drinks overpriced but good. Beer was great deal though. I’d get beer next time over 20$ iced down gimmick drinks. Mugs from Tiki Farm were cool.
