Stopped into The Olde Detroit Burger Bar recently and had a great experience. The food is exactly what you’d expect from a classic American burger bar — flavorful, satisfying, and done right. I went with a wrap and Cajun fries, and everything came out fresh and crispy.
What really makes this place stand out is the atmosphere. The refreshed interior and outdoor patio create such a welcoming vibe. It’s the kind of spot that’s perfect for a casual lunch, dinner with friends, or hanging out on the patio during the warmer months.
If you’re in the Lake Orion / Baldwin area and looking for a solid go-to with good food and a great setting, this is definitely worth checking out. Looking forward to coming back this summer to enjoy the patio again!

Solid burger spot. The staff was super friendly and nice! The food and drink prices are very reasonable. The establishment is very well kept and clean, clear and organized. They have a good variety on the menu. My wife got the Reuben which was amazing and I got a burger that was incredible and full of flavor. The spinach artichoke dip was bland and could have used more flavor but besides that is place is really good. If you are in the area definitely worth a try.

We stopped in because I was in the mood for Mozz sticks. They delivered on that. Served hot and not blown out, slightly above average breading. Decent ranch. We also tried the sliders and we’d def get those again. Laid back atmosphere and just what we were looking for.

I really wanted to enjoy my visit to The Olde Detroit Burger Bar, but unfortunately the experience fell short in several areas. From the moment we walked in, things started off on the wrong foot. We weren’t greeted upon arrival and ended up waiting quite a while before anyone even acknowledged us. Once we were finally seated, it took what felt like forever to get menus and our first round of drinks. The lack of attentiveness from the staff made the whole visit feel unwelcoming and frustrating.
When it came to the food, I was hoping the quality would make up for the service, but that wasn’t the case. The burger I ordered was lacking in flavor and came out a little dry, which is disappointing for a place that has “Burger Bar” in its name. We also tried the chicken sandwich, and unfortunately it too was dry and not very enjoyable. With so many options for burgers and sandwiches in the area, this just didn’t stand out.
Overall, the combination of slow, inattentive service and underwhelming food makes it hard to justify coming back. With some major improvements, this place could be better, but as of now, it was a letdown.

Absolutely 5 stars! This burger was insanely good. I got it with a gluten-free bun, and honestly—it was the best gluten-free bun I’ve ever had. Soft, flavorful, and didn’t fall apart. The burger itself was juicy and packed with flavor, the toppings were on point, and everything just came together perfectly. Highly recommend!

Went to the Baldwin Rd location Wednesday, 9/10/25 @ 5 pm. Before Pine Knob concert. Had read reviews & hoped Celia would be our server as she seems to have a lot of love coming at her in the other reviews. We entered & a gal said have a seat anywhere & Celia will be right with you. Celia was very prompt in greeting us & getting our drink order. Then she returned & took our food order. I had the gyro, spousal unit had the French dip. Food served with great timing, delicious & all food temperatures on point. Didn’t have to wait on the check. Celia definitely did not disappoint! Keep up your excellent food & service! We will be back!

First time coming to this establishment after being highly recommended from a customer we were talking to in a store nearby. 1st impressions was it looked really good inside & bathrooms were clean. The food was absolutely delicious but the service was extremely poor! It took 20min for a server to take our order. When we arrived we weren’t greeted, it was seat yourself. There were 2 bartenders that ignored us & didn’t even welcome us even though they looked right at us. There was 6 patrons at the bar & no other people at the tables. Both bartenders were doing nothing but talking & laughing with the customers. After waiting 20min, I saw one bartender head to the back, came back out which we learned was our server. Server was nice, food came promptly, and as I said food was absolutely delicious! Once we were done eating we waited another 15min for the server to recognize we were done. When I was sitting in my seat, I was looking for her & she was standing at the end of the bar talking to the bartender & a customer seated at the bar. From what I have seen in other reviews on this platform, others have had a bad experience with the service as well. Whoever is hiring & training really needs to teach their staff the importance of tending to customers needs & not stand around talking and greet people who come in & make them feel welcome.

Place was nice, it was my first time there. Only one server working so the service was kind of slow. Not the servers fault it was packed. Ordered a patty melt… it literally was the least cheesy burger I have ever ordered. Burger needs more cheese. Not sure if the cook was new or not, but more cheese needs to be added in order to call this a “patty melt”
