10000% the best place I’ve been to! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the hamburger steak was beyond amazing—cooked perfectly and full of flavor. I’m already planning my next visit!
I’m so glad I happened to be driving through and discovered The Old Gin. The manager was incredibly kind and even gave me a discount for helping out on the patio, which made the experience even more memorable.

The service was absolutely exceptional. Our server, Cassidy, was very attentive and sweet. She checked in on us and made sure we had everything we needed to have a great experience. She had such a positive, welcoming energy that it elevated the entire meal. It’s rare to find service that feels both professional and personal, but she nailed it! Easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had! We will absolutely be back

Nice modern restaurant in a cute small town. The patio was absolutely decked out with comfy chairs and bug tvs. We never sit outside doors but its worth it here. The girls gave up excellent service and they seemed busy for dinner on a Monday. The make your own margaritas was in point. The food was absolutely perfect.

I had an amazing experience at The Old Gin! I built my own burger, and it was absolutely perfect, juicy, flavorful meat cooked just right, with fresh toppings that made every bite delicious. The tater tots were crispy and golden, and the loaded cheese nachos were packed with flavor and generously topped. Everything came out hot and fresh. The wait time was about average, but worth it, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to!

This is a gem of a place in Wortham. A “must” venture off 45 to go try for yourself. You won’t be disappointed. The chef has got talent. The staff are nice & friendly. It’s got outdoor seating & a playground for kids. Food was great. Looking forward to going back & becoming a regular. It was that good.

I already love this place, the food, the staff, and the atmosphere. My husband and I spend way too much time here. Lol. But tonight the chef, David did an amazing job on our food. My husband ordered the pork ribeye and it looked so good I had to get a bite. It was!!! Tonight I asked for custom street tacos and the chef, David did an outstanding job. So thankful for this little gem.

We were staying in Tehuacana and were looking for a place to grab lunch, saw The Old Gin, and decided to give it a try. Will absolutely be coming back and telling all my friends about it. Very impressed with the adaptive reuse of the gin and the quality of food! Service was top notch as well. Did not expect to find this in rural Texas. Plus they have a playground that the girls absolutely loved!

First time happened to be on the anniversary of the restaurant and it was hopping with live music, the playground and folks enjoying themselves.
Considering the location I’m not sure how you can expect much more.
Family friendly indoor and outdoor dining with rustic décor that does not go overboard.
The 14 oz ribeye was grilled well, though just over medium rare. Whole corn was great, but the coleslaw could use more acid.
Reports from others in the group were positive. That included a Chicken Fried Steak, Pecan Crusted Tilapia and Blackened Catfish.
The staff were very friendly and attentive with a laid back vibe.
We will go back.

We went to the Gin in Wortham Texas today for lunch. We got thee about 12, it took us 2 hours before we got anything that looked like food. It was four of us, I ordered the burger of the month and the other people all ordered hamburger steak. However it took forever! They brought the salads, then brought out a bowl with lettuce on.bottom and a hamburger patty on top, mind you I ordered the “ hamburger of the month” not a bowl. The waitress kept walking by I’m sucking air out of my straw hoping she would hear, but she didn’t I had ask her to get me water. Finally they come out with two hamburger steaks and didn’t get theirs persons steak out only brought his onion rings. When the manager was asked for, she came and her attitude was so nonchalant. She went to the wrong table with the steak sat it in front of the other customer, then came to our table and put it in front our Freon’s. He said no, you can take that off my bill, I don’t want it. She said okay. Nothing about being sorry or anything not trying to fox things. We said we won’t be back, she didn’t seem to care. I have eaten here before, the food was good m, but don’t care how good the food is, the customer service was very poor. They just lost 4 good customers!
