I love the food here but the service is incredibly slow that most the time I don’t go at all. Not sure if this is a staffing issue or just how the kitchen / chef operates. If you eat in or order to go, it takes over 30 minutes easily to get your food. One time it was over 40 minutes. Not really one to complain but it seems like a every single time its an extremely long wait. I ordered it on door dash to avoid the wait to dine in and they had the dash driver there for over 30 minutes ignoring them is very rude. I hope to see this improve. I can go to Firebirds and get a 5 star meal in half the time.

I never would’ve expected this kind of place in a strip mall but you really have to get here and try their food!
Firstly the place is big and our booth could’ve fit the whole extended family in it! And each booth has its own tv which is really cool! Watching Final Four and eating great seafood together just can’t be beat!
I got the Fish n Chips Eddie style, onion rings and cole slaw! Huge portion with 2 big pieces and 1 was bigger than most other restaurants. Battered in house came out hot and fresh! The onion rings were battered onsite too and it was light and airy and these things were HUGE! A lot of batter but great nonetheless! Cole slaw was great as well with a little zing to it. Well worth it!
Mrs got same thing except hers was blackened, side salad and the famous potato cakes. Very tasty and just as big as mine was!
We’re definitely going back!

It’s been a while since we’ve been to Bags of Nails because we moved an hour south. Their name popped up in a conversation my wife and I were having so we made plans to visit them the next day. It’s always a treat to return to a restaurant you haven’t been to for a while and find your old favorites tasting just the way you remember them. That was our experience this time around and we’re so glad we made the trip. I had a cup of New England Clam Chowder and it was absolutely delicious! We also ordered a fish and shrimp platter and were reminded just how much fish and shrimp – a lot, and it is some of the best fish around! I got a French Dip sandwich and my wife, who claims not to be a sandwich person, had to have the first two bites, and I could tell by her face and her moans that she loved it as she has before! I got a side salad which was fresh and plentiful and we took home some bread pudding with caramel sauce. A delicious experience and one that we’ll repeat over and over in spite of the hour drive!

Date day took us to Mason where we visited The Old Bag of Nails, beautiful bar and pub. I got a sweet jalapeno margarita and he got the blackberry Traveller, both were excellent and in their fall drink menu. For starters we got the fried pickles and fried Wisconsin cheese curds and both decided to have the fish & chips and opted for Eddie’s spice. Fish and chips were excellent, most, crispy and not over breaded. Cole slaw was also very good, not too vinegary or sweet. My husband and I have not yet eaten at The Old Bag of Nails Pub but I will say that the food is very good, I love their Fish & Chips and their fried mushrooms. My husband really likes their French Dip sandwich with the Au Jus, I also tried their bone in wings they’re pretty good. Overall we really like the food and we’ll check out the restaurant sometime soon. Good eats!

I recently visited The Old Bag of Nails Pub and had a satisfying experience. The food was good, and the service was friendly and fast. The pub had a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, and the place was clean and well-maintained. The menu had a good variety of options to choose from. Parking was plentiful, and the seating was comfortable. We were able to get a table quickly, although it wasn’t a busy time. The booths even had TVs, so if you enjoy sports, you can ask for specific games or matches. The location of the pub is convenient, and they have a nice bar. While I wasn’t wowed by my visit, I left satisfied with the overall experience.

Fish and chips. Fish was crunchy, and steak fries were just ok. Cole slaw was refreshing. Portion of fish was huge!!! Yummy, we enjoyed greatly. I will return.

I really wish I knew about this place sooner. My wife and I started out with the Southwest egg rolls…. So good.

Next I got a Coboy Burger. Very good, could be a little more spicy!

My family have been to the old bag of nails pub many times. It has been one of our favorites and go to spots for years. Sadly we will not be going back after a horrendous experience. We visited there on Monday 12/22/25 and our server was the worst we have had at any restaurant. When our server came to the table it had been a bit but we understood as she looked busy. We tried to be helpful by giving her our food order with our drink order and also because our 6 year old was getting hungry. After giving her the order we asked her if she had crayons for the kids menu and she said no and when we asked if we could get some told us it was gonna be a while. After the waiter left my wife decided she wanted to try one Christmas themed cocktails and next time I saw our waitress I asked if I could order one for my wife. She rolled her eyes and sighed as if I had inconvenienced her so much. When our drinks came I didn’t even get the right thing. I ordered a high noon and received a Pauliner Hefeweizen. At this point in the night I didn’t even care anymore I just drank it. Our French onion soup came and the onions were not caramelized at all and the broth was somewhat watery. We got the spinach and artichoke dip and the chips were stale and old. If the service had been good we would have given them the chance to make it right but the service sucked and was not worth the effort. Our server never asked us if we needed more drinks and gave us our check without asking if we needed anything else. Shitty service and bad food equals me not going back again ever.
