Another standout dish was the burrata. I’ve had burrata at many places, but this one ranks among the best. Creamy, fresh, and beautifully presented—definitely a must-try!
The ambiance added so much to the experience. There was live music playing in the background, creating a lively yet relaxing atmosphere. The views of the water and yachts made everything feel like a mini vacation. We arrived just in time to catch the sunset, and it was absolutely magical.
It’s also a great spot for families. They’re doing something really fun for kids with these adorable boat-themed water cups—such a creative touch that the little ones loved.
Overall, everything from the food to the setting was top-notch. I highly recommend this place for a memorable meal, whether you’re going with family, friends, or on a date. Can’t wait to go back!
We started off inside the Bar, but soon moved outside, to enjoy the last vestiges of warm weather.
They have a great Happy Hour, and Bartender Beth, besides being one of the most efficient Bartenders on the South Shore, is a hoot…. Great person..
Food was good, drinks better, service beyond excellent
We will be going back here
Missed all the food pictures, but I had the mussels in white sauce. They were some of the best mussels I’ve had in a long time..
It gets very crowded, so get there early.. Mary, the manager, and Beth the bartender, keep things going in the right direction,, Very pleasant people to deal with
I had the most wonderful lunch at The Oar! The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful, with a stunning view overlooking the water that made for a perfect, peaceful setting. I treated myself to lunch and, at first, was a little nervous dining solo, but the warm and welcoming service made me feel completely at ease.
Now, let’s talk about the food—out of this world! I had the eggplant, goat cheese, and fig spread panini, and every bite was an absolute delight. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and it was easily one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. I also started with the coconut shrimp, which was fabulous—crispy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. To top it all off, the coconut martini was the perfect finishing touch!
From the delicious food to the attentive service and breathtaking view, everything about my experience at The Oar was exceptional. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic meal in a beautiful setting!
We tried multiple times throughout the summer but always a wait and no reservations during summer so finally we get a reservation for tonight In November and give it a shot.
Ultimately I wish we stuck to our regular stomping grounds.
The seafood bisque soup I had was great. The bread with the oil was good. Beyond that I wasn’t really impressed with the food much at all. She had a steak that like every time we go out she ordered medium. Unfortunately it was still Mooing. Fully rare almost raw on the inside. She will never send food back unless it was completely wrong off the rip but our waitress wasn’t around to do that anyways.
I had the short ribs. They were just blah. Nothing to write home about flavor wise but they were really tender. “Crispy” onions were just oily mound of onion which is usually a favorite of mine.
The waitress we saw a total of 3.5 times. Once to take our order. She checked on us once (about 20 minutes after our food came) and once to ask if we wanted dessert and drop the bill off.
This is what really rubbed me the wrong way. We received our bill. $147 total. $58 for a steak that was sub par, at least the sides were included, and I look at the bottom and there’s a $4~ “operating fee” on top of them already charging extra for using cards.
Sorry but that just sealed the deal I don’t think we’ll be coming back.
