My friend and I stopped by The North House on a week night to try some of their new happy hour offerings! They have a new chef, and although this was my first visit and it’s hard to compare between the chefs, it seems that this one is trying to come up with some creative menu items. I see they offer brunch, even on the weekdays, and a prix fixe menu on Tuesdays with family style dinners to come soon on Mondays. I think it’s great that they’re switching things up! The vibe was definitely nice here, and the food was good. I would be curious to come back and try their regular menu next time too.

Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food the superior service and the stone and fireplace room. Had not been here since it became the North House. This was an excellent place and prices were very good for the quality of the food. The main parking lot is not suitable for impaired walkers. Lots of stairs. Park or drop off near front of restaurant facing Avon old farms inn. And route 44. Just room enough for two cars. The ricotta gnocchi was excellent. And a must try is the meat and cheese plate. Well worth it. Fed 5 people as an appetizer. Our server was superior in all aspects.

It’s not what I remember it to be when it when is the Avon Old Farms Inn. They were known for their exquisite dining experience. I have to say; the weight staff was phenomenal. But the food did not live up to that expectation. This is just my opinion.

Want to a nice big bar with a cozy feeling? This is the bar. Love the old world charm. If you don’t have dinner make sure you take a walk to see the dining room in the back that is screaming original old-world charm. Drinks are the best and delicious. Great happy hour too. All of the food on the menu is a winner and consistent. Never a disappointment. If you want to have a large event they have great facilities on site that can accommodate. Put this one on your list.

I came here on a Friday night with my husband to enjoy a happy hour and then dinner. We got there around 5pm and were able to get parking in the lot easily. We were able to get two seats at the bar, but man is it a popular place for happy hour! The specials on the menu are great, particularly the beverages. There were fun cocktails and then plenty of beers on top and some house wine.

Love this restaurant. Great atmosphere and very interesting history. Excellent selection of beer and wine (although my wife and I are bummed they don’t offer the 2014 Prisoner by the glass anymore). The couple times we have eaten there the food has been overall very good. A lot of their ingredients are sourced from local businesses which is great to see. So far the only thing I’ve been somewhat disappointed by is their burger (probably because I had very high expectations). The steak sandwich is killer and the gnocchi is the best I’ve ever had. Their Beef Wellington is quite well known and we were told that people come from far and wide for it. It was definitely tasty even though it’s not really the kind of dish my wife and I typically go for. The lunch special is especially good value as it’s a pre-fixed menu with several excellent options for a very good price. Service is top notch and we’ve never had to wait long for our food to come out. I highly recommend giving this place a try if you’re in the area.

Would say they delivered ‘North’ of 5 stars (har har). But seriously, this antique style home fitted as a restaurant delivers quaint feel with modern meals. Part museum, part flavor factory. Staff is incredibly nice and they have helpful emnue insights. Wing appetizers are crispy outside, juicy inside. Chicken and gnocchi entrees are filling and delicious. Duck Confit is flaky and scrumptious!
