The setting is gorgeous: wooded property by a lake, well‑kept grounds with hammocks, outdoor fire pits, and a relaxed vibe where you can stroll and soak it all in before or after your meal.
Inside, it’s a massive all‑you‑can‑eat operation: lobster, crab, shrimp, prime rib, filet, scallops and so much more.
Yes, it’s not cheap. But if you commit to the full experience, you’ll get your money’s worth. It’s for people who want the feast.
The wait can be long at peak times. But they are well organized and manage the crowd really well. Follow their directions, give yourself plenty of time, and it will be part of the adventure rather than a frustration.
What impresses me most is that they keep such a high level of consistency despite the size of this setup. For a place doing this many dishes at once, they maintain good quality across the board. Many props to the folks running this.
If I’m looking for a seafood‑splurge in a setting that feels special rather than rushed, The Nordic is my go‑to.
As a self-proclaimed connoisseur of raw oysters, I was in heaven. And while I didn’t get to dive into the all-you-can-eat lobsters this time, I’m saving that for my next visit! (My boyfriend had an event later that afternoon, so I didn’t want to spend my limited time wrestling with lobster shells — I’m not the fastest at it… lol.)
Oh, and did I mention the drinks? I had an apple cider mule — or something close to that — and it was absolutely to die for.
The Nordic is definitely worth the wait and the drive — I can’t wait to go back!
What I appreciated most was the consistency, every serving tasted just as good as the first. The staff kept everything coming with a smile, and the vibe was relaxed but lively exactly what you want for a seafood feast.
It’s rare to find a place where quality and quantity actually go hand in hand. The Nordic nails it. I left full, happy, and already planning my next visit.
The grounds were well maintained and beautifully scenic!
Ok so if you’ve heard about how great this awesome buffet restaurant is, it is true. We were in NYC for a trip and decided a road trip to RI was in order and it turned out to be the highlight of our whole vacation. Beautiful drive, history and a great meal. Success!
Firstly, the service was amazing. Friendly and genuine people who nail it in every sense. Our server was Josh and he was super on point, even going so far as to teach me how to eat the crab legs and lobster as it was a new experience for me. When he saw how excited we were to find a dessert that we havent seen in the US before he even got me the details of where they locally procure!
The food – ok there was no way we were going to try everything, but what we tried we enjoyed. We had our favorites – for me it was the king crab legs and the steak for dinner. But it was dessert that ended up getting me becuase they had what I know as “fresh cream doughnuts” in the southern hemisphere and they were on point. Thus, the only pic I took was of one :p
I think lobster and prime rib are two of the main draws, and they serve whole cooked lobsters and large servings of prime rib non-stop. I did try both and the prime rib was perfectly cooked and juicy. The lobster was freshly cooked but for me I just didn’t really enjoy it when eating next to the king crab legs that made my taste buds dance. Butter wasn’t even needed.
There was so much more we wanted to try but just couldn’t because we were happily stuffed.
We arrived at 5pm on a Friday night and were seated and eating by 520pm and left happily full around 630pm. There is no slow-playing or limited access to food. This is a well oiled machine and all stations were well-manned with fresh food and always clean.
I would recommend going in spring/summer because it is winter now – we were bummed it was pitch black before we got there so we couldn’t enjoy what we could tell was an amazing garden and outdoor area.
We will definitely be back 🙂
