This is likely the best diner in Washington, Indiana. The staff here are great, friendly, and professional. Make sure you visit with some of the locals while in here. You will encounter some rather fine folks here. We prefer their breakfast but their whole menu is pretty good. They have remodeled and improved their restrooms with two new spacious ares.

Wonderful place to stop and experience the nostalgic hamburger and food restaurant that have greatly disappeared. Very friendly and appreciative staff. Great hamburger, fries and chili. Tenderloin sandwich was gigantic and delicious. Very reasonable prices. Don’t pass up this place.

Won’t be getting the double again. A double should be 2 patties. They used to have crispy edges. It was a greasy mess. My bun fell apart. Ill try the single next time.

What can you say bad about this Mom and Pop burger joint? I can’t think of anything.
Burgers grilled right out in the open, with a nice helping of onions that help to season that griddle. Good quality buns. Good meat patty, great pickles. Grab one with cheese. I went light on onion and they still had excellent taste. Fries were really good also. Give them a try. I don’t think you will be dissatisfied. Great cheeseburgers!

A true experience! Can’t think of the last time I ate at a place like this… so much yet so simple. Took a few coworkers here for lunch as we passed through town and they all very much so enjoyed the experience! It was up for sale at the time we visited, hopefully they find the right new owner(s) who change little if anything. A definite stop when I pass through again. I highly recommend you check them out!

Wanted a quick lunch and so very glad I stopped at The White Steamer. Cheeseburger was hot and sizzling off the flat iron grill which is right at the front of the place. Also had one of my favorite’s button fried mushrooms. Even got a chocolate milkshake to go that was the right consistency to drink through a straw but still creamy. If you want a small town home diner and bump your cholesterol up just a little… This is your place! Will certainly be back ❤️
