Tandoori Indian Grill & Lounge is more than just a place to eat. It is a place to live an experience. The atmosphere truly transports you. From the décor to the music, everything makes you feel like you have stepped into another world. I love that they have a floor sitting area, which is such a unique and authentic touch you do not find in many places.
This is also one of those truly unique spots that actually gives you a real mild spice level. For me that makes all the difference because it lets me fully enjoy the flavors without being overwhelmed.
Please also try the cocktails, they are extremely tasty and pair perfectly with the food.
The food, the service, and the atmosphere were all excellent. I definitely look forward to coming back.

Im visiting from Calgary and ive eaten at plenty off Indian places and this by far, is the best food ive ever had! The cardamom ginger lemomade is TO DIE FOR, and I love me some korma and this is the best Korma ive ever had! The aloo gobi is super flavorful. I cant tell which i like more the garlic or spinach naan……the spinach. I like spinach naan. My bff liked the garlic one more because of the crisp and admittedly, that crisp is so good! oh and the tandoori shrimp! Medoum spice but amazing taste! Try it with the spinack and the green sauce. Thank me later! Also, the service is superior. Literally each person who we saw was super kind. Id even say, they went above and beyond. Highly recommend!

Walked downstairs into the scene of a movie. Beautiful live Sitar music being played, incredible ambience, and delightful service. The food arrived quickly after ordering and was certified yummy. Had an eggplant Bharta that I will remember for the rest of my life! Thank you for the wonderful experience

We were there at 2:45 PM and ordered food, along with a takeout order of tandoori chicken. The server told us it would take 30 minutes. We said that was fine since we were dining in and would eat first.
We ordered Kadhai Paneer and two tandoori rotis. The tandoori roti was not cooked properly, so we asked the server if they could make the second one crispier. He said, “Sorry, we cannot do anything now as it’s already made.” We had to leave that roti because we couldn’t finish it due to it being undercooked.
We then waited for the tandoori chicken, but after 50 minutes, they kept saying, “Just 5 more minutes.” We eventually decided to pay for our food and leave.
Later, the server offered a discount when he saw that we had left the roti.
This was our first time visiting Nelson, and we were excited to try this place. Unfortunately, after this experience, I would rate it zero stars.

Pretty Feet
Despite an unhinged crazily entitled couple that was finishing up as we were just sitting down our dining experience was amazing. The waitress was kind and professional and kept it together in a way I certainly wouldn’t have been able to. Beyond that the food was delicious (even the crazy couple took their food to go even though they had a melt down about how few containers the received, Someone didn’t get the memo about cutting down on waste I guess)
10/10 would recommend for anyone who wants billiantly flavoured meal, quiet atmosphere and great service.
PS Saw them writing a review too wouldn’t be surprised if you can find it here as well. They were out to lunch I wouldn’t believe them.

Had a great time at Tandoori Indian Grill & Lounge with a group of friends. We shared butter chicken, eggplant, classic curry with rice, and garlic naan — everything was really delicious. Medium spice is just slightly spicy, so it’s very approachable.
They also have a new drink menu that’s worth trying. Margaritas or Caesars with a hint of Indian spices — super interesting and different.
We came on a live music night, and on a previous visit there were musicians playing sitar and darbuka, which made the atmosphere even better.
Always a good experience. We’ll be back soon!

It was a great experience dining at this restaurant. Harman provided excellent hospitality. I noticed how polite he was and how he created a good experience for every guest, not just for us. I also saw that other guests were very happy with his service at that time. It’s really nice to see such great customer care.
The food quality was very good taste, presentation, and timing were all perfect.
