Monkton Diner – A Hidden Gem on the Way to Goderich
What a cool find! We stopped at the Monkton Diner on our way to Goderich, and it was absolutely worth the detour.
️ What We Had:
Chicken fingers, fries, and clubhouse sandwiches—everything was excellent. Fresh, hot, and clearly made with care. The portions were generous, and the whole lunch for four people came to just $60, which was a fantastic deal.
Atmosphere:
Friendly, cozy, and full of small-town charm. The staff made us feel right at home.
Bonus:
Next time, we’re hoping to try a homemade butter tart or peach tart !

If you’re heading to Goderich (or just in the area), make a stop at the Monkton Diner. Great food, great value, great experience.

The service was not so great slow no hot chocolate, toast came out 5 mins before breakfast and sausage was not cooked still cold garden omelet way 2 many vegetables to ratio of eggs and no cheese who makes an omelet with no cheese

Best Eggs Benedict I’ve had! The Hollandaise Sauce was absolutely amazing. A bit of confusion from our server and mix ups of drinks (coffee, tea, decaf coffee) but otherwise great 🙂 not the speediest service but that’s okay it’s worth it wait!

Stopped in just before close after a long drive. They threw on a couple of homemade burgers and onions rings. Made to perfection and delicious. That patty was not frozen. They didn’t complain one bit about me showing up two minutes before close. Wonderful people, exceptionally clean and amazing food.
