We were in search of a night out (rare for us..) but didn’t have to be transporting – just something nicer than thrown together pub food. As it’s pretty much the only game in town and just up the road we gave it a shot, having read some mixed, but mostly good reviews. Well – what a pleasant surprise! Granted, it was early November, slow season, latish weeknight – good choice! Our waitress was just lovely, attentive and personable, the menu is fairly extensive for this kind of place, and let me just say – we both ordered (unusual for us to get same dish) the duck, which is among my favorite ‘dining out’ choices. I’ve had roast duck in France often, at French restaurants in pricey Naples, FL (skip it..), and other places as well and THIS was among the very best I’ve ever had. When a little cafe in Vermont rivals Paris dining (at least this one dish), you can’t offer higher praise. The wine was nice, and reasonable, and this was all we had as it was birthday night and cake awaited at home. But we will certainly be back, and I for one know what I’ll be ordering. Couldn’t stop thinking about it for weeks! Thanks guys for a terrific meal.

My friends and I recently visited New American Grill during our ski trip to Vermont, and it was hands down the BEST dining experience we’ve had all week! From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with genuine warmth and attentiveness. Their service was top-notch—friendly, proactive, and always making sure we felt right at home.
The food? Absolutely **DELICIOUS**. Every dish we ordered was flavorful and thoughtfully prepared, with generous portions that left us fully satisfied (and even with some leftovers!). The prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality and quantity you receive—truly a great value.
What truly set this meal apart was the live music! A talented guitarist and singer roamed the dining area, serenading guests with soulful tunes. It added such a joyful, lively vibe to our evening, turning dinner into a celebration. Our entire table was smiling, clapping, and even singing along—it was pure magic!
After trying several restaurants in the area, New American Grill stands out as our favorite. Whether you’re a local or visiting Vermont for adventure, this spot is a must-visit. Thank you for making our ski getaway even more memorable—we’ll definitely be back next year!
**Highly recommended for food, fun, and fantastic vibes!**

Just dined in for lunch on our way home from Stratton Mountain! My husband is a chef and the food was awesome! He LOVED the curry and my BLT was so good and the vegetables were SO fresh! We couldn’t get over the fresh tomatoes! The atmosphere was great and very clean! Ethan was our server and he was awesome! Such a great little place, highly recommend!!!

Very nice place. Finished a ski day at Stratton and stopped by for dinner. They have a good selection of local beer, the menu had a nice variety of offerings, and prices are reasonable. The food was very good, and the clam chowder was exceptional. My only criticism would be that the chowder was luke warm and the food was not very hot when it arrived at the table. However, the place was crowded when we were there, so that might have impacted the food orders.
I would still recommend visiting. I look forward to returning next time we ski at Stratton.

Honestly one of the best Clam Chowdah’s that I have ever had! They do not skimp on the minced clams.
Also the fish & chips was superb. The beer batter was perfect and stayed crispy all the way through meal. This place takes pride in it’s food and it shows.
Must stop in when in the area!

Service was really nice, had such a friendly waitress. Food was pretty average but does the job after a long car ride. Got the half rack of ribs and clam chowder and shrimp special.

We were suggested this restaurant by a local after having a bad experience at a fancy restaurant on the other side of the mountain. Even though it was a busy weekend with a packed house, they were able to offer us a table with just a short wait.
Having a music room separate from their main dining room with a variety of live performers is great.
The service is good.
The food… our appetizers and salads were good. My wife had the ahi tuna and it was perfect. I had the curry and it was disappointing to say the least. I’m bummed I didn’t say something while dining in and order something else. It was the reason I’m giving this just 4 stars.

I’m going to say this and get it off of my chest, the food was absolutely DELICIOUS. OMGOODNESS!!!! I ordered my food over the phone and the gentleman said it would 15-20 minutes. I arrived early and the atmosphere was charming, staff extremely friendly and the gentleman who took my order was very kind. I ordered the Buffalo fried chicken sandwich with fries, large garden salad and a slice of cheese cake. CHEF’S KISS.
We must chat about the sandwich, I’ve NEVER had a sandwich like this EVER. It was tender, not too much but just enough to enjoy. The cheesecake was a wonderful size and moist with the graham cracker crust. THANK you so very much for the great food, the chit-chat and being kind in today’s society. It was worth every penny.❤️
P.S. The portions were enough to have the next day❤️

I can’t recommend this place enough. Sincerely, one of the best meals we’ve ever had while traveling. Everything was fresh, balanced and very flavorful. We had the Caribbean jerk wings, lobster alfredo, pesto shrimp pasta and chicken parmesan. They were very busy on this Sunday night so it’s forgivable that service was a little slow but the food more than made up for it!

Just finished a wonderful dinner here. My Slipstream Shortribs and my wife’s Cashew-Ginger stir fry were both excellent, but the real star was the Ahi Nachos! Those were amazing! The servers were very pleasant and gave us great recommendations. We will definitely be coming back when we are in the area again!
