Food was good but it was a 30 minute wait when he said 20 minutes. No air in the restaurant and it was hot asl outside today. Other than that food was good customer service was nice

Mac & Cheese – unbelievably great! Omg! Don’t skip on that mac!
Redpotatoes – good, I love red potatoes, so that can never go wrong for me.
-Sweet potatoes – exceptional the texture was on point, and so was the Sweetness.
-Greens- delicious! Well seasoned with a hint of spice!
-corn muffin – slightly dry, but no one cares about a muffin. Just dip it in the greens
-stuffed chicken with garlic butter sauce
I felt the flavors were definitely there, but the chicken breast was slightly dry. Just a little! However, that might not be a fair judge because white meat is usually on the dry side. That’s the only reason I couldn’t give a five-star.
The restaurant was very clean and esthetically pleasing. The lady taking orders was so nice. I’ll definitely visit again.

Listen…..I dont know what the other reviews were about and im not here to tell anyone about their experience etc…but my food was GOOD lol. Im glad I didnt let the rating stop me from going because baby that food was good. My fiance picked up my order and let me tell you. The cabbage was good, the Mac n cheese was good, the chicken wings were good, the Cajun Alfredo was good. ♀️ aw and I had the turkey spaghetti as well….GOOD!
Everything was seasoned to perfection and not overly seasoned! People want foods that are heavily salted to the point all you taste is salt..NOT ME. Mind you i just moved from hoffman estates and there are not many spots like this out there. I will be back for sure.

Be prepared to wait patiently. Clean, updated atmosphere INSIDE. 19.99 for a turkey leg and two sides was reasonably priced to me. Thank you for the experience today.

(2.5⭐️) The food was meh, didn’t live up to hype. Came right when they opened at 2pm sunday. I thought the food would be good and fresh since they just had opened. The sides were barely warm. The corn bread muffin was CRUNCHY, the corn mill was gritty. Smoked turkey leg was big but they sell stuffing not dressing, ifykyk. I’d try them again but order something different. They skimp on the portion compared to what’s advertised. The yam salmon was a 10/10. The workers are too busy talking to customers vs packing the food that just came out. They are alittle expensive too for what we ordered.

Great great customer service, the food was was ok, nice portions my only peeve was that the sides were cold and the fish was hot, we let the server know and she was on it kudos to her. I do recommend this establishment this was my first time and I will be back

OMG! I’ve been trying to get some food from this location for a few months now. Why is this food so delectable and delicious! I can’t stay away. Right in the middle of the block on 80th and Ashland, there’s parking always. Can’t wait until they open the dining area. Staff are sweet and helpful. Very polite and fast. The pictures DON’T DO THIS FOOD JUSTICE! I thoroughly enjoyed both meals that I’ve purchased from this wonderful establishment. I have now committed myself to trying everything on the menu assuming everything tastes great. I’m going today and tomorrow.

Hi My Name is Lisa: My Husband and i visited Chicago Food on The Run. We were greeted by a Gentleman name Keuntee . The customer service I Received coming in the door was phenomenal. I explained to Keuntee this was my Husband and I Frist time hear. I was very impress with his extraordinary customer service he sold me . the conversation that we had on the food he took his time he did not rush me it was very well please. My Husband got the Creole style Bake chicken with mac and Broccoli and I order smothered chicken with gravy with candy yams and greens on the side this Food was Awesome just awesome whoever the cook is I take my Hat off to the cook this is really soul food…. this is better than Morris soul food. Attention attention all you people who like to eat like me and try new things and get good customer service this is the place you can also dine in. My Husband and I definitely will be back Keuntee for your customer service and for them shrimps and Grits next on my line.
