The Musubi Truck • Kapaa Local Lunch, is an exciting food truck created by Kaua’i native ʻohanas, The Kakaliaʻs and The Aguinaldoʻs, with their elevated interpretation of the original SPAM Musubi. We’re excited to combine popular local dishes and turn them into a fun, fresh and easily accessible musubi meal. Mahalo nui for visiting and we hope to serve you soon!

Musubi Truck is a must for anybody visiting Kauai. The vibe is great. Take your food and sit at the beach or use their picnic tables. We get da bomb (steak musubi) and the ahi katsu (lightly panko’d ahi musubi) and a local poke bowl and a spicy poke bowl. When we musubi it’s usually enough for lunch and dinner. Mahalo. Shaka.

I had the spicy mayo poke on a bed of salad with a side of sesame-soy dressing. It was light and fresh. The amount of poke was very generous, but not spicy. However, I would still recommend getting, if you want something light and not in the mood for what they specialize in: Musubis. I would definitely come back to try their deep fried spam musubi.

The food was good. We waited about 15 – 20 minutes until order was ready. We ordered the Local Poke Bowl and the Lifeguard Bento. I am giving them a 3 for food because the Crispy Tater Tots were room temperature/cold, the deep fried Spam Musubi was crispy, slightly warmer than room temperature, and the Spicy Mayo Poke was not spicy. I am not sure if this is how the food was supposed to be served, but when I order fried food I expect it to be hot out of the fryer. The spicy mayo poke may have been the spice level that they use, but not the slightest hint of spice in the mayo. I wish they had some hot sauce as a condiment so I could have made the poke spicier.

We made this our first stop and it won’t be the last! Everything we ordered was superb. We had the OG spam musubi, the chicken katsu and the Lifeguard Bento. The Katsu was filling, and the bento box was just stuffed with food. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in Kapa’a.

We stopped by here on a whim after returning our kayaks and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we’ve made on our trip so far. This food is LIFE CHANGING. A day later and I still am thinking about it.
When we ordered, we were informed that they were out of tots and unfortunately couldn’t complete the bento box but offered to offset it by giving us more poke. We agreed and grabbed a spot to wait for our food. Little did we realize that the food delivery was just dropping off and the workers kindly began making the tots for us. When our buzzer went off, they informed us of the last minute addition of tots—so thoughtful!
We sat and tried our food then and could not stop saying to each other “try this!” Every. Single. Time. It was incredible. The ahi katsu was so tender and paired well with the spicy mayo. They certainly didn’t skimp on the sauce either! The poke was fresh and tasty, the tots were hot and crispy, and the Musubi was the star of the show. Crunchy, savory, and just a little garlicky from the aioli. The flavors paired so well together! This is one of those meals where every bite is delicious and at the end you can’t stop thinking about how good it was.
You must give this place a visit!

The food was so good here my wife and I went back two days in a row and ordered the exact same thing. We rarely eat at the same place while we’re on vacation but made an exception for the Musubi Truck. We ordered the OG Musubi, Da Bomb Musubi (this was amazing), Poke Bowl (again this was amazing too), and the Truffle Tots (you are doing yourself a disservice if you don’t order these)

This is the best food we got on our trip. They had unique musubi flavors and poke as well. I got da bomb, and my friend got the classic spam musubi and the Truffle tots. They had a meal deal where you can get a musubi, a drink and tots for $7! The large musubis definitely are the perfect sized portions and reasonable for the price. Da bomb was delicious, especially with the spicy mayo sauce; but a bit messy to eat. My friend enjoyed their musubi as well. The tots are nice and fresh with The perfect amount of Truffle flavor and a tasty sauce on top. If you are in Kauai you NEED to go to a musubi truck. They have 2 other locations both on the southern side of the island. (Also there is minimal parking and seating, and some chickens)

We went to 3 different Musbi Trucks across the island and all three were consistently good. How have we not known about the life changing musubi I do not know but it was so good. Nice price point for grab and go.

Such a fun little stop. Never had Matsubi before so had to try while on the island. Sure glad we did!!
Got the O.G and it was good. Nothing special, 3 ingredients but that is what they all are right? It was all cooked perfectly and well made.
Then got the Deep fried O.G and it was still cooked great but with sauce!! I loved everything about this.

They have a vegetarian /vegan musubi with tofu. My husband got the deep-fried spam musubi. We both liked our choice choices.
