What a gem here in the Valley! The Munch Box is not just a place to grab a bite, it’s a piece of Chatsworth history. Built back in the 1950s, this landmark still carries that classic charm, and the food is just as timeless. The menu is simple, delicious, and the prices are fantastic you really can’t beat it! It’s the kind of spot that makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time while still enjoying a fresh, tasty meal. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

It’s a nice little spot, service is quick and friendly, and the burgers taste like homemade in opinion. The great for the price
I had a double hickory burger with cheese and it was good, it comes with a chilli dog sauce, is not really strong and combines well with the burger. I would say that the patties are house made not frozen but I’m not sure and I didn’t ask. The fries are just normal but good and non of the food was very salty which is good tha way it is and you always can add some more if you like.

One more reason to still carry cash! This place serves probably the best chili burgers I’ve ever had, and at less than $6 per burger it’s definitely worth the drive.

I do wish they took credit, or even just Zelle/Venmo, but I am just glad they exist at all. Happy munching!

Probably the best chili cheeseburger I’ve ever had. The chili is very similar to Tommy’s in Canoga with maybe a warmer spice to it. The chili is perfectly proportioned to the burger, not an overwhelming wet mess but more of a condiment. Also, the smoked patty adds a well rounded meatiness to the whole thing. Munch box is a valley institution for a reason, it’s damn good.

I LOVE the Munch Box! You coming to the Valley? This is where we are going. Great food at great prices. Got a double hick with cheese (no tomato) a western with cheese + kraut fries and a root beer all for around $20. Staff are always friendly and they get the food out quick. Customers (myself included) are a vibe in and of themselves. Places like this are a dying breed and should be treasured. It’s an institution. We don’t need more Starbucks. LONG LIVE THE MUNCH BOX!

After delivering road base to Chatsworth, I like to stop by the munch box and have myself the basic cheeseburger fries and Coke. This place is great.

Been going here for over 30 years. A staple for Chatsworth for simple comfort hot dogs and burgers. I remember the days when I’d walk home from school and get a bag of fries for a dollar. I do miss those days. My go-to is the eastern with relish. Chili cheese fries are also great too.

If you are ever in Chatsworth or near there and love great junk food, The Munch Box is the place to go. Parking is usually not a problem.

This place has been there forever it seems, I think sometime in the mid 50s it went up. It has chili dogs, burgers, fries. They thought of closing it once and that did not go over well with the neighborhood. This roadside burger stand has been owned and operated by the same family, kept the same Googie architecture, and nearly the same menu, with a variety of burgers, hot dogs, and fries since it opened. The prices have gone up, but other than that it is the same.

When development threatened to close the restaurant in the early 2000’s, the community wrote 1,700 letters and petitions to the city council, urging that the burger stand be placed on the list of Cultural-Historical landmarks. They won and it is now a protected landmark.

The food is the best. We love their chili dogs with raw onion. Their burgers with chili are great. I don’t care for American Cheese, not really cheese now is it, and that is all they have, but my grandson loves it. They still sell root beer and even though it is the same you can get at a grocery, it seems better there.

It is go to the counter, order, wait a minute and either eat there, outdoors, or in your car or take home. We always stay and on cold days we eat in the car.
