Excellent brunch restaurant. Always good vibes, quick service even when busy and delicious food. The breakfast potatoes are mind-blowingly crispy and the mont de cristo is one of my favorite executions. Classic Eggs Benedict and chicken and waffles are also standouts.

The Mont – A Local Favorite That Always Delivers

I came across The Mont a few years ago, and it quickly became a go-to spot. It’s a well-loved local gem, and once you’ve been, it’s easy to see why. If you want to be seated right away, I highly recommend arriving within 30 minutes of opening—otherwise, wait times can vary quite a bit, especially on weekends.

The menu is classic American diner fare. There’s nothing bad on the menu—everything is made with care and a real sense of comfort. Their morning cocktails are just as thoughtfully crafted and definitely worth exploring. Pricing across the board feels very fair.

When I can I sit outside, especially on a rainy day when the heaters are going. Just be aware there’s one table that tends to catch more of the weather than the others.

The space is best suited for smaller groups; parties of four fit comfortably. Larger groups are doable, but expect a longer wait or a tight fit in a booth.

All in all, The Mont has that rare mix of consistency, charm, and great food. It’s the kind of place you look forward to returning to.

Just found our new favorite brunch spot! We came the day after Christmas and were seated pretty quickly with hardly any wait, which was such a nice surprise.

I ordered the biscuits & gravy with two eggs and bacon, and wow—so flavorful and comforting. I’m not usually a biscuits & gravy person, but this completely changed my mind. My boyfriend got the eggs Benedict, and we shared a small order of the brioche French toast—everything was absolutely delicious. It was so good we didn’t even stop to take pictures of the food, which says a lot!

Our server, Bry, was incredibly sweet and attentive, making the experience even better. Service was efficient, and we were able to enjoy our meal without feeling rushed. We were in and out while still feeling taken care of.

We’ll definitely be coming back again. Highly recommend for brunch! ✨

I recently visited The Mont for brunch and it was lovely!

The vibe is very low key, very cozy, with a hint of retro that I love (especially the fonts, color palette and adorable VHS tv behind the counter featuring Princess Bride during this visit!)

The Eggs Benedict was delicious! Though the seasoning gave it a bit too much spicy kick for my taste, the hollandaise sauce was perfection. A good, zesty hollandaise can be hard to find and The Mont excels here in my opinion.

The staff were so warm and personable, and even rushed out to give us the glasses my mother accidentally left on the table.

Will most definitely be back to try some of the delicious looking challa French Toast items!

I’m gonna dream about this breakfast for years! Perfectly poached eggs covered in the best hollandaise I’ve ever had! Butter and eggs, whipped into submission!! Oh my! And the potatoes? Tender and fluffy inside and crispy, crunchy outside! Great coffee, great service and dog friendly! This may have just become my favorite Portland breakfast spot!

Loved the Month! Great covered patio and delicious food in large portions. My family and I ordered Bloody Mary’s, biscuits and gravy, eggs Benedict, and a Caesar salad. Everything was so good!

We had a phenomenal brunch here last Saturday. It didn’t not disappoint!! The atmosphere is super chill, they have covered outdoor seating and lovely indoor sitting in booths, higher tables and bar seating. We absolutely loved their epic retro VHS collection on display over the bar. They had little tv with Little Mermaid going. Super nostalgic!

Now to the food, the portions are incredible. We ate everything with no leftovers. I had their spicy fried chicken and waffles combo. The Belgium waffle was so fluffy and was tossed in Minnesota Maple HAB sauce spicy jalapeño maple syrup they had hit every taste bud perfectly. I added sides of their house made gravy, you got to order the gravy!! So good, and flavorful. I would have just spooned it out and ate by itself. My fiancé decided on their Mont De Cristo, it had thick sliced French toast as the buns!! The buns!! With ham and Swiss cheese and a sunny-side egg glistening on top with all the flavor it was about to impart with the perfect yolk as it cascaded down your fingers. She added the berry compote that was very tasty and added another layer of flavor. She got the side salad and said it was super refreshing. This was our first time experiencing the perfection of this place, but for sure will not be our last!! Highly recommend them to anyone who is wanting a delicious food coma! Also we went about noon and the wait time was short and sweet, about 10-12 minutes. So worth it!! Enjoy

This may be my new late afternoon brunch/lunch spot. The portions were big and the food was great (a bit rich though). The mont sandwich was so good. Rosemary aioli absolutely made the sandwich! Fried chicken was nice and crispy, fries were delicious. Eggs benny was well above average, too much ham for my taste. Might get the garden benny next time. Will certainly be back to try more! This very small space with an unassuming home decor just might be the hidden best breakfast spot in Portland! We got the breakfast burrito, Mont meat scramble, and French toast, and they all rank #1 in best places to do them in the entire city. I’ve been here for 5+ years and every restaurant is fusion with a range of loosely grasped cooking principles, but this place knows how to egg, how to crispy potato, how to French toast, and all the details in between. Masterclass in attention to taste and flavor! No points off for plating like a Diner because who cares when you’ve got the crispiest potatoes in town. Service was very attentive and warm, but get there before 10am if you want a quick seat!

Please update your social media pages like instagram to let us know if you’re closed. I went online to place an order, it said to call. I called ALL morning. No answer. Finally gave up and showed up and they’re closed. I even checked their IG page to see if they were closed and they didn’t post anything. I love this place but their customer service has been lacking
